This might not come as much of a surprise, but Biden might not have joined the 2024 presidential race at all if President Trump weren’t running again!
That’s not our opinion. That’s straight out of the mouth of Joe Biden himself!
Speaking to donors in Boston earlier today, Biden admitted, verbatim: “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running. But we cannot let him win.”

So, the man sitting in the White House today might not have even considered launching a campaign for 2024 if the man who should be sitting in the White House wasn’t in the race (and on track to defeat him!)
Let that sink in.

President Biden on Tuesday said if former President Trump wasn’t running for another term in 2024, he’s “not sure” if he would have also embarked on his own reelection campaign.
“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running. But we cannot let him win,” Biden said at a campaign reception in Weston, Mass.
Biden’s comment came after he laid out in stark terms the threat he believes Trump poses to democracy, citing Trump’s remarks in which he compared his political enemies to vermin, recent reports that he’d use the Insurrection Act to implement policy changes, and a December 2022 social media post in which Trump suggested he would terminate parts of the Constitution.
Despite (or maybe because of?) his motivations, Biden is already miles behind Trump in the polls. The Independent via MSN adds:
while speaking at a fundraiser outside Boston on Tuesday, Mr Biden said Mr Trump’s persistence on the political scene is why he is not stepping aside in favour of a new generation.
“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running. But we cannot let him win,” he said.
Mr Biden currently trails his twice-impeached, indicted predecessor in most opinion polls, with key voting blocs from his winning 2020 coalition dropping their support for him amid his strong backing of Israel during its’ two-month-old war against Hamas.
