Rand Paul Performs Emergency Heimlich Maneuver On Joni Ernst!

This is something you don’t see every day!

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky) performed the Heimlich maneuver on Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Ia) who was choking on food.

Of course Rand Paul is a medical doctor. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Duke University School of Medicine in 1988. Before entering politics, he worked as an ophthalmologist (an eye surgeon) and had his own medical practice.

Looks like that medical training paid off big time today for Sen. Ernst:

Paul jumped into action after he noticed that 53-year old Ernst was choking.
