Another Journalist Who ‘Debunked’ Pizzagate Charged With Child Pornography

Why does it seem like so many journalists who “debunk” Pizzagate end up being charged with child pornography or worse?..

A man by the name of Slade Sohmer has been charged with multiple counts of child pornography, including possession and distribution of child porn in the state of Massachusetts.

Sohmer previously served as the editor-in-chief of “The Recount,” a left-wing news organization.

He has since been terminated from his position.

Investigators uncovered thousands of files on his electronic devices, including a picture depicting the rape of a child around 4-years-old.

Sohmer is not the first journalist charged in such a way after previously calling Pizzagate a conspiracy theory.

Earlier this year,  former ABC reporter James Gordon Meek also discredited Pizzagate as a conspiracy theory, and then pled guilty to child pornography charges.

The Post Millennial reported on the charges:

Editor-in-chief of The Recount Slade Sohmer, who held his post until last month, has been charged with the possession and distribution of child pornography in Massachusetts. Sohmer was released on $100,000 bail on Monday.

The News Movement, which owns The Recount, told the New York Post that Sohmer “is no longer editor-in-chief” of The Recount “following a company restructure exercise in early October to focus on our editorial and commercial plans.”

Fox News has more of the very disturbing details:

After searching through Sohmer’s phones, laptops, and tablets, investigators initially uncovered 1,300 files, with hundreds that included child sexual abuse media. One of the pictures depicted the rape of a child around four years old.

The Berkshire Eagle reported that Sohmer was released on $100,000 bail Monday after he was charged and arraigned in Berkshire District Court. He allegedly disseminated “hundreds of child pornography images and videos,” some of which included toddlers, court documents showed.

The district attorney’s office said some of the materials were sent to others via Telegram and Snapchat. In 2021, Sohmer allegedly discussed how to “lure, kidnap and rape children” with another individual.

Prosecutors claimed that Sohmer may have produced some of the content found on his devices.

As these charges have come to light, Buzzfeed appeared to do damage control by purging an article they did on Sohmer several years ago.

The article was titled, “People Are Touched By This Writer’s Conversation With A Bunch Of Fourth Graders.”

It was archived and shared on social media:

Sohmer also has links to John Podesta and Hillary Clinton.
