A United Airlines flight from Los Angeles, California on course to Vancouver, Canada was forced to land abruptly on Monday evening.
According to reports, the flight was forced to make an emergency landing in San Francisco due to a bomb threat received by several passengers via an Apple Airdrop.
Not much is known about the origin of the threat or details surrounding the case, although investigators deemed the threat level as not-so-credible. ABC 7 News reports:
The flight from LAX to Vancouver landed at SFO just before 9:30 p.m. PT. Flight tracking shows the flight made it almost to Oregon before turning around.
It is not yet clear if any individuals have been arrested in connection to the mid-flight bomb threats as of now and none of the flight’s 148 passengers or crew were harmed during the incident. Multiple outlets confirmed on Tuesday:

OANN had more details:
Investigators are also currently speaking to passengers who were on board the flight, asking about any additional information regarding the alleged bomb threat.
It is unclear what particularly generated the security issue, however, a person who claimed to be aboard the flight wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that the threat was implemented via AirDrop.
