It’s a rare thing indeed when a New York City judge issues a ruling that benefits President Trump’s legal team—rare but not unheard of.
New York Attorney General Letitia James sought to block several witnesses requested by the defense team to testify as part of President Trump’s ongoing New York City civil case.
Judge Engoron has since ruled that the witnesses should be allowed to testify and four previously blocked witnesses will now have the opportunity to take the stand.
Engoron cited the fact that he did not want the verdict in this case to be revered—does he already have a particular verdict in mind?
Adam Klasfeld, who has been providing live updates from the court, reports: “Justice Engoron says it would be prudent to let the witnesses in: “I don’t want a retrial of this case. I don’t want to be reversed.” He adds later: “I’m going to allow the testimony without prejudice to objecting to anything that may be irrelevant.”
Engoron explains what his role is and isn't.
"I'm not here to value these properties. I'm here to decide whether these statements of financial condition were fraudulent."

The directed verdict motion remains unresolved.
That's it for this particular trial this week.
Good afternoon from New York.

According to Washington Examiner:
James had asked Engoron to bar testimony from Jason Flemmons, a forensic accounting expert, Steve Witkoff, a New York City real estate investor, Steven Laposa of Laposa Realty Advisors, and David Miller, an expert in insurance issues and underwriting.

Just The News had more details:
James had argued that bringing the four witnesses would be “irrelevant” because Judge Arthur Engoron had issued a partial ruling against the Trump Organization in September.
