UFC: The Next Bud Light?

Will the UFC become the next target of a mass conservative boycott following their recent deal with Bud Light?

The beer giant recently inked a $100 million deal with the UFC to be the official beer of the league and popular sports network.

This seems to be the sentiment among conservatives, who voiced sharp criticism and called to boycott the UFC and reinforced that they would not be buying Bud Light—perhaps ever.

Here are the reactions to the news from conservative influencers, journalists, and personalities, Robby Starbuck wrote:

“Bud Light is paying $100 Million to be the official beer of UFC and you know what? Lighting that money on fire would have been less embarrassing than what’s about to happen. Fighters are gonna hate this. Fans will hate it. The customers aren’t coming back Bud Light.

Period. You made your bed with men who think they’re women, now sleep in it. I get that Dana thinks he has to take the easy money but this damages the UFC brand and puts his fighters in bad spots where they WILL speak out against it. Watch. Embarrassment awaits.”

Daily Mail reminded readers:

Modelo and Coors have surpassed Bud Light in the top-selling beer charts and recent data showed their share of the beer market had dropped to just 8.9 per cent.

Sales have declined by around 30 percent in both volume and dollar value compared to the same period last year.

The Epoch Times provided this statement from UFC founder Dana White:

Mr. White added that Bud Light was “first beer company that we really did business with,” adding, “They were our first real big sponsor when we were getting started, and now we’re back with them.”

Anheuser-Busch, which includes Bud Light, was an official sponsor of the UFC about a decade ago—before the Modelo partnership.
