Top Trump and DeSantis Donor Dies In Attempted Murder-Suicide

A major donor to both President Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis, reportedly shot himself dead last week in what police are ruling an attempted murder-suicide.

Steve Alembik, 72, who was known for wearing his American suits and make large donations to GOP candidates, was pronounced dead after shooting himself and a woman in a BurgerFi parking lot in Delray Beach Florida.

The woman Alembik allegedly shot was reportedly his wife and she was able to survive from her gunshot injuries.

Within the last 20 years Alembik has handed over $200,000 to GOP candidates and thousands of those donations went both to Trump and DeSantis’ campaigns.

Laura Boomer offered her condolences and noted Alembik had a longtime battle with mental illness.

Steve Alembik was a wonderful, and kind hearted man, and I was very sad and shocked to learn of his death today. I wrote about him in my book, as he was the person who gave me the first initial push to run for US Congress in 2020. I made the decision to run for Congress when we had a meeting in his office in Boca Raton, and he worked hard to support me every step of the way. Steve was a big supporter of Republican political causes, a pro-Israel philanthropist, a loving father, and a kind and generous man. Every time I spoke to Steve, he was hosting a fundraiser for another pro-Jewish cause, volunteering at the food bank, or helping a GOP candidate.

He was always helping others and was a fierce patriot who loved his country and was often spotted in his eccentric red, white and blue patriotic outfits like his American flag blazer and converse. Sadly, those of us who knew Steve understood that he struggled with his mental health at times, which he ultimately succumbed to when he died this week, but he always put on a smile for those around him and never complained.

The tragedy surrounding Steve’s suicide has shocked everyone, and as details come out, people will probably be judgmental. I just know that Steve was a kind man who had personal struggles like everyone else. And I hope he is remembered for all of the good he did throughout his life as opposed to the darkness and tragedy that surrounds his last moments on this planet. This is how I will choose to remember Steve Alembik.

This photo of us was taken the night of my election victory party the night I won my primary on August 18, 2020. Steve was always there for the people he cared for. And I hope he will be remembered for all of the good he did in the world. May his memory be a blessing.

Check out what The New York Post reported:

A controversial donor to both former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — who once called former President Barack Obama a “f–ing Muslim N—” — allegedly shot himself dead last week in an attempted murder-suicide.

Steve Alembik, 72, was pronounced dead after shooting himself and an unidentified woman in the parking lot of a BurgerFi outlet in Delray Beach on October 10, according to the Miami Herald.

The woman in her 40s, believed to be Alembik’s wife, survived after she ran into the burger chain with gunshot wounds to her arm and back, and was transported to a local hospital.

Alembik was known as a major GOP donor, giving more than $200,000 in political contributions over the past 20 years — including thousands to both Trump and DeSantis, according to the Herald.

But he came under fire in 2018, when he referred to former President Obama as a “f–ing Muslim N—” and claimed then-Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg “can’t die soon enough.”
