As if homelessness and crime were not bad enough, the increased number of undocumented immigrants invading the Big Apple has also apparently resulted in the spread of a potentially deadly disease.
According to TheBlaze:
The prevalence of [tuberculosis] is the highest it has been in the city in more than ten years, with some speculating that this could mean the illness spills over into other parts of the country. A number of health officials have suggested that one major reason for the rise in the illness is COVID-19 fatigue, with more people avoiding clinics and treatments.
However, there is also the possibility that the migrant crisis in the Big Apple has something to do with the sudden rise of TB. More than 100,000 migrants have flooded into the city since the spring, with many of them not having the appropriate vaccinations that would otherwise mitigate the likelihood of contracting the illness.
“When there are particularly high spikes in TB and other infectious diseases in New York City, that tends to be kind of a bellwether for the rest of the country,” Elizabeth Lovinger, a health policy director at Treatment Action Group, said. Treatment Action Group is a public health advocacy group that specifically focuses on TB.
While New York City has only seen a small fraction of the migrant invasion that has plagued border states for years, the impact on the nation’s most populous city has been widely chronicled on social media:

Migrants have overtaken luxury hotels in New York City.
That hotel is RAKING it in!
What rates are they getting per night per room from NYC taxpayer dollars? $300 per night? $500 per night per room? More?
That is a great deal for new migrant arrivals coming over the border.… pic.twitter.com/WawupED95r

NEW YORK GOVERNOR FLIPS ON MIGRANTS
In Dec 2021, NY Gov. Kathy Hochul invited all migrants to come to New York.
She welcomed them with open arms, quoting the welcoming message from the Statue of Liberty touting the state's sanctuary status.

JUST IN: Former president Bill Clinton now opposes New York City being a “Sanctuary City” as the migrant crisis continues to spiral out of control.
Being a virtue signaler was easy when you didn’t actually have to deal with the consequences.
During an interview, Clinton argued that New York City’s liberal “Right to Shelter” law needs to be changed.
“Governor Kathy Hochul thinks it should be modified, and it probably should under the circumstances.”
“It’s broken. We need to fix it… It doesn’t make any sense,” he said in relation to housing migrants while they wait for work permits.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams predicts the city will have to spend $12B+ in the coming years on the migrant crisis.
Good. I wish they would learn their lesson but they won’t due to the woke mind virus.
Even leftist Democratic Mayor Eric Adams has reversed course after campaigning on a policy of offering sanctuary status to migrants who enter the country illegally.
He has even taken aim at the Biden administration for its utter failure in securing the border and enforcing immigration laws.
As the New York Post reported:
Mayor Eric Adams railed against the Biden administration Tuesday as he called on the feds yet again to expedite work permits for the tens of thousands of migrants flooding into the Big Apple, slamming the current delays as “unacceptable.”
Hizzoner doubled down on his repeated cries for more federal assistance and funds to help stem the migrant crisis plaguing the city — arguing that the Big Apple had been unfairly saddled with a national emergency.
“There is no reason the national government is not standing true to the basic principle of the American experience to allow you the right to work,” Adams said during a rally outside Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza.
“It is unacceptable.”
Here’s a clip about Adams’ recent trip south of the border:
