Eric Clapton Just Raised $2.2 Million For The Candidate He Is Backing

Eric Clapton has raised a hefty sum of $2.2 million for the candidate he is backing for the 2024 Presidential race.

The musician, long known as a classic 1960s-style liberal, previously made headlines for speaking out against the experimental COVID shots and their detrimental side effects.

Now the legendary rock musician has made headlines once more—this time for throwing a fundraiser benefit for anti-establishment Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The alternative candidate thanked the legendary musician for his fundraising effort in this online post: “I am deeply grateful to Eric Clapton for bringing his musical artistry and rebellious spirit to my gathering in Los Angeles last night and helping raise $2.2 million for my campaign.”

According to Fox News:

The private concert brought in $2.2 million to Kennedy’s campaign coffers, according to a campaign press release.

The campaign said it raised $1 million while the remaining $1.2 million went to a political action committee supporting the Democrat’s presidential bid.

Tickets to the fundraiser cost a cool $6,600.

Activist Lloyd Chapman and user William Reymond provided videos from the fundraising event for the anti-establishment Democrat candidate.

The Hill presented this statement from Kennedy:

“I sometimes think that in our divided society, it is music rather than any kind of intellectual agreement that has the most potential to bring us together again,” Kennedy said in the press release.

“Eric sings from the depths of the human condition. If he sees in me the possibility of bringing unity to our country, it is only possible because artists like him invoke a buried faith in the limitless power of human beings to overcome any obstacle.”
