It’s been a while since Bud Light made any headlines and many no doubt thought that the story was over—nope!
If you can believe it, things have actually gone from bad to worse for Bud Light. WLTR previously reported that Modelo dethroned Bud Light as America’s top-selling light beer brand.
Additionally, analysts do not believe that Bud Light will make a recovery—at least not anytime soon.
Anheuser-Busch’s flagship product continues to decline in terms of sales and popularity to the point where major retailers are now considering abandoning the beer label and providing shelf space for other products.
Obviously, losing major chain retailers will deal a giant blow to the already ailing brand.
As you can tell by these memes and social media posts, the company’s public relations image won’t be fixed with its core consumer base anytime soon.

ABC News broke the story:
Bud Light is set to lose refrigerator space at a vast network of stores belonging to key beer sellers like Walmart and 7-Eleven, since the retailers typically reapportion shelf space based on recent sales performance, taking space away from struggling brands and giving it to hot-selling ones, the industry sources told ABC News.
“During a busy shopping period on a Friday or Saturday night, if you don’t have the beer available cold on the shelf, consumers pick something else,” former Anheuser-Busch InBev executive Anson Frericks told ABC News, calling shelf space “the single largest determinant of sales in a store.”
A snapshot of the company’s stock shows a price drop of roughly $10 per share since the start of the boycott, with a consolidation pattern that indicates a return to the downside and a continued price drop.
The New York Post provided the latest sales data:
In the four-week period that ended in early September, sales of Bud Light dipped 27% compared to the same period a year ago, according to Bump Williams Consulting and Nielsen IQ.

“When I found out the natural family owned brands I was using were bought out by these mega-corporations, I knew I had to make the switch.” – Jessie
“I reluctantly decided to test the store and was shocked to find out how much I loved the products and service. On top of that, the prices are great. They have gained a lifelong customer!” – Gene
