But as the war rages into its 16th month, many Ukrainians are keeping a close eye on the political battle taking shape 5,000 miles away, as they know it will directly impact the continuation of America’s vital backing.

A recent poll from Rasmussen Reports indicates that an incredibly small minority of Americans are even concerned about the issue of Russia, with only 3% of respondents saying that Russia was an important topic.

Presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy spoke some sense regarding the Russia-Ukraine war:

“Shockingly, almost the entire GOP field supports Biden’s strategy of blind support to Ukraine.

I disagree & predict this will become *the* key distinguishing issue in our primary. As U.S. President, I will end the war by ceasing further support for Ukraine and negotiating a peace treaty with Russia that achieves a vital U.S. security objective: ceasing Russia’s growing military alliance with China.

This strategy is the mirror-image of President Nixon’s diplomatic maneuver that distanced China from Russia in 1972, except this time Putin is the new Mao.”

CNN reports:

The US does not yet have explicit intelligence about Putin’s mindset, or whether he is purposefully dragging out the war in hopes of a Donald Trump or Republican presidential victory.

But next year’s election remains a key factor that top Western national security, intelligence and diplomatic officials believe will influence Putin’s decisions in Ukraine, making it even less likely the war is resolved before the end of next year.

A CNN poll conducted by SSRS that was released on Friday found most Americans oppose Congress providing additional funding to support Ukraine, as the public splits over whether the US has or has not already done enough in the conflict.
