Democrats Urge Biden to Enact Emergency Powers Over ‘Climate Change’

With Maui recently being ravaged by wildfires.

Many Democrats are attributing the wildfires to ‘climate change.’

And now they are attempting to push Biden to declare a climate emergency.

Giving the federal government emergency powers to ‘combat’ climate change.

This was likely their plan all along.

As President Joe Biden prepares to visit Maui, the Hawaiian island devastated by the deadliest wildfire in U.S. modern history, lawmakers and climate groups are begging the White House to do more to prevent future climate-related disasters.

Their argument: If the latest environmental catastrophe won’t spur the president into action, what will?

The fires, likely sparked by the island’s electric utility and heightened by climate change impacts, swept through the Pacific paradise last week, killing at least 110 people and leaving the famed town of Lahaina smoldering in ruins. As survivors search for missing family members and friends, and a housing crisis unfolds amid the vast destruction, climate activists and members of Congress are urging Biden to declare a national emergency over climate change.

It isn’t the first time the White House has faced calls to take this step, but the ongoing crisis in Hawaii and a string of climate events this summer — including this weekend’s first-ever tropical storm warning for southern California — have intensified the appeals, building pressure on the president ahead of his scheduled trip to the island disaster site Monday.

“Even when I talk about this issue, I tend to say things like, ‘I want to make sure my children have clean air and water — that they have running water. That they have a livable planet when they’re my age.’ But that’s not right. Tomorrow, you could wake up and your whole community could be ashes,” said Kaniela Ing, a seventh-generation indigenous Hawaiian from Maui and the national director of the Green New Deal Network, a climate justice organization.

“That’s the urgency we’re operating under,” he added, “so if there was ever a moment to declare a climate emergency, it is right now.”

Alongside climate groups, many of Biden’s allies in Congress have urged him to invoke emergency powers, which would enable the president to take sweeping action to restrain greenhouse gas production, implement large-scale clean transportation solutions and finance distributed energy projects, among other actions.

That’s right.

Democrats want Biden to invoke ’emergency powers.’

They want to force their propaganda on you.

It’s not enough for them to be in office and to enact change democratically.

They need to abuse their power and enact change today.

Interestingly, Biden stated he has ‘practically’ already declared a climate emergency.

He credits a lot of the actions that his administration has done to combat climate change.

But people don’t think this is enough.

They want him to have absolute power over these issues.

President Joe Biden incorrectly claimed in an interview with The Weather Channel that he has already declared a national emergency on the climate crisis.

“I’ve already done that,” Biden said when asked whether he intends to do declare a climate emergency. “We’ve conserved more land, we’ve rejoined the Paris Climate Accords, we’ve passed the $368 billion climate control facility. We’re moving. It is the existential threat to humanity.”

When pressed again on whether he had actually declared a national emergency, Biden said: “Practically speaking, yes.”

While Biden has taken a series of significant legislative and executive steps to combat climate change, he has stopped short of declaring a national emergency, which would unlock sweeping new federal authorities and funds to combat the climate crisis. Climate activists have called on Biden since the earliest days of his presidency to declare a national emergency.

Pressed about Biden’s claim, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday that Biden was referring to his decision last year to invoke the Defense Production Act to spur production of clean energy technologies.

“What the president was talking about is the Defense Production Act. That’s something he did very early on,” Jean-Pierre said on “CNN This Morning.”

Biden and his team are carefully planning all of his moves.

And with new polls showing that President Trump and Biden are close.

Biden might be trying to take a middle ground to appease both sides.

However, it looks like it is blowing up in his face.

Conservatives are upset that Biden is allocating too many resources to ‘climate change.’

While liberals are complaining that he is not putting enough into ‘climate change.’

We don’t need a leader who makes half-hearted decisions.

We need President Trump to make the hard decisions that led us back to being the top country.
