Hunter Biden Walks Free – Federal Judge Drops Tax Charges

Hunter Biden is free to walk.

Despite mountains of evidence showing him to be a degenerate and a criminal.

The judge handling the Delaware case for a misdemeanor tax charge has dropped the case.

A federal judge in Delaware dismissed two tax misdemeanor charges against Hunter Biden that were filed as part of his now-defunct plea deal, paving the way for special counsel David Weiss to potentially bring more charges in another jurisdiction as part of his continuing probe.

After the plea deal collapsed earlier this month, Weiss’ prosecutors asked District Judge Maryellen Noreika to dismiss the charges in Delaware, so new charges could potentially be brought in California or Washington, DC. Hunter Biden’s lawyers agreed that the charges should be dismissed, because they were only brought in Delaware as part of the earlier plea agreement.

Noreika approved the procedural request on Thursday.

The two charges brought in Delaware were misdemeanors, for failing to pay taxes on time in 2017 and 2018. Without a plea deal in-hand, Hunter Biden could potentially face more serious charges: IRS whistleblowers who worked on the case told Congress they recommended charging the president’s son with six federal felonies, including tax evasion and filing false tax returns.

It’s not all bad.

Hunter has the POSSIBILITY to be still charged with more tax evasion crimes.

However, this whole situation smells fishy.

I wouldn’t hold your breath that the Hunter probe produces any results.

We’ve seen time and time again the corruption within the government.

I don’t doubt the DOJ is working tirelessly to get Hunter and Joe off the hook.

Biden attorney Abbe Lowell said Friday in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that if the special counsel does anything other than refile the same misdemeanor tax charges in a jurisdiction that has venue, “then people should ask themselves the following question: After five years and all the things that were investigated, if anything changes in what happens next, then people should ask it has to be something other than the facts or the law that has been infecting the process at this point.”

The judge has not ruled on an issue involving the separate gun charge, a felony alleging Biden illegally owned a Colt Cobra .38 Special handgun during a period when he was using drugs. Under the terms of the scuttled plea deal, the charge would have been dropped in two years had Biden honored the terms of a diversion agreement with prosecutors.

Biden’s attorneys said last week they consider that deal — which included a passage protecting him from some other possible charges — was still in effect because both sides had signed it.

Prosecutors say the deal was not in effect, because the agreement also needed to be signed off on by the probation office and it had not been.

One of Biden’s lawyers, Chris Clark, moved to withdraw from the case during the back and forth, saying he expected to be called as a witness in the dispute. Noreika signed off on his withdrawal in a separate order late Thursday.
