Hold on to your hats, folks, because the world just keeps getting stranger.

Do you remember when we thought we’d seen it all?

Then came the age of gender transitions and it seemed like we’d finally reached the peak of personal transformation.

Boy, were we wrong!

The new frontier is here and it’s, well, a little ruff.

Meet Toco, a Japanese man who took a leap of faith to embrace his inner… dog.

That’s right, you didn’t misread that.

This is not some eccentric pet owner spoiling his dog, no sir.

This is a full-grown man embracing his inner collie, complete with a custom-made, $14,000 canine costume.

And when we say ’embracing’, we’re not talking about a fun weekend cosplay.

Oh no, Toco takes this canine caper seriously.

His YouTube channel, which boasts more than 32,000 subscribers, is full of footage of him rolling on floors, frolicking on lawns, and even playing fetch.

But, is it all just a harmless game or a manifestation of something more concerning?

Are we about to embark on an era where humans will be donning costumes of all sorts, transforming into whatever creature they’ve dreamt of since childhood?

And the bigger question – when will this madness stop?

The New York Post has all the details:

The dog days are just beginning for this man.

A Japanese native has transformed himself into a canine after forking out more than $14,000 for a custom-made collie costume.

The private citizen, who goes only by Toco online, says the unusual garment has helped actualize his dream of “becoming an animal.”

Footage shared to Toco’s YouTube channel, where he boasts more than 32,000 subscribers, shows him clad in the costume as he frolics on a lawn, rolls on a floor, and plays fetch.

Toco has even uploaded a video of himself venturing out in public as a dog for the very first time.

Bystanders appeared to be in awe of the man’s doggy debut as he paraded down a busy street in the viral clip, which has racked up 1.7 million views.

Toco completed the costume with a harness strapped around his furry abdomen, but admitted he was “nervous” and “scared” of venturing out in public.

“Do you remember your dreams from when you are little? You want to be a hero or a wizard,” he wrote in the clip, describing his life-dog dog dream as seemingly “unrealistic.”

“I remember writing in my grade school graduation book that I wanted to be a dog and walk outside.”

In a society that champions individuality and freedom of expression, where do we draw the line?

Should we be celebrating Toco’s transformation or asking why a grown man feels the need to become a dog, and who enabled this?

Is there a point at which we should stop applauding and start questioning?

Toco, despite his delight at fulfilling a childhood dream, hides his human identity from those he works with, for fear of judgment.

It’s a poignant detail that raises a series of uncomfortable questions.

How do we balance compassion and understanding for Toco’s feelings with our duty as a society to ensure mental well-being?

Let’s dive deeper into this bone of contention.

This isn’t just about one man’s canine caper, but a reflection of where our society is headed.

Are we becoming callous in our pursuit of entertainment, neglecting the need for compassion and understanding?

WION News confirms that this “dog”/man is trying to become “friends” with other dogs:

The grand debut of Toco, which was captured during the filming of a segment for a German TV station, was well-received by passers-by and other dogs who looked curious. It was difficult to understand if they realised that Toco wasn’t a natural-born dog.

“I became a collie, fulfilling a dream I had since I was a little child to be an animal!” read the subtitles flashed at the beginning of the video.

Toco, giving an introduction on his YouTube channel, explained through a series of written notes translated from Japanese, “Nice to meet you. I became a rough (sic) collie because I wanted to be an animal … Please let me know your request for the video you would like to see in the comments!”

Toco stated that he has been hiding his human identity because he does not want people, who know him, to judge him for his new look.

“I don’t want my hobbies to be known, especially by the people I work with. They think it’s weird that I want to be a dog. For the same reason why I can’t show my real face,” he said while speaking to the Daily Mail last year.

This is not sending a good message to our kids.

Somewhere along the way, people enabled this man.

Doctors – his family – his friends.

Instead of helping him, they turned him into a “dog,” but we all know he’s really a man in an elaborate costume.
