Ray Epps has been formally charged by the Department of Justice. …Well over two years later. …
WLTR recently reported that Epps filed a lawsuit against Fox News alleging that the cable news network defamed him by claiming that he was a potential FBI asset.
Buried within the documents pertaining to that litigation was one very interesting detail: Epps is now being formally charged by the DOJ for his alleged role in the January 6th riots.
The timing couldn’t be any more suspect. …
FBI Director Christopher Wray recently told Congress, under oath, that he had ‘no knowledge‘ of Epps working as an FBI informant or otherwise working with the agency as an undercover asset.
Independent journalist Tim Pool, who covered the story on his popular YouTube show Timcast IRL, had this to say: “It’s crazy that the media is only leading with ‘Ray Epps sues Fox’ instead of ‘Ray Epps says he is being charged for his role in j6.'”

The Post Millennial highlights the DOJ charges mentioned as part of Epps’ complaint against Fox News:
“Finally, in May 2023, the Department of Justice notified Epps that it would seek to charge him criminally for events on January 6, 2021—two-and-a-half years later.
The relentless attacks by Fox and Mr. Carlson and the resulting political pressure likely resulted in the criminal charges” the complaint reads.
The complaint continues, blaming Fox News for the criminal charges: “… it is difficult to believe that the Department of Justice would have pursued this matter if Fox had not focused its lies on Epps, ultimately the criminal charges conclusively demonstrate the falsehood of the story that Mr. Carlson and Fox told about Epps.
Conservative influencers and journalists found it highly suspect that Epps was facing charges two-and-a-half years following the events of January 6, 2021.
Wait, so two-and-a-half years later, Ray Epps is getting arrested?!?

The Post Millennial highlights this interaction between Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) and FBI Director Christopher Wray at Wednesday’s Congressional hearing.
Rep. Nehls told Wray: “If you don’t arrest Mr. Epps, there’s a reason behind it. I believe you know what it is, and it appears to me you are protecting this guy. I strongly recommend you get your house back in order.”
Rep. Nehls asks FBI Director Wray if he will arrest Ray Epps, and says:

According to The Epoch Times:
In sworn testimony before the Jan. 6 Committee in late 2022, Mr. Epps explained the widely circulated video, saying he wasn’t calling for a violent breach of the Capitol the following day but was merely trying to find “common ground” with some of the people assembled at the pro-Trump gathering in Washington and defuse a tense situation.
