JUST IN: Bud-Light DETHRONED


Anheuser-Busch just got some terrible news. …

For the first time in decades, Bud Light has lost the reigning crown. According to new sales data for the month of May, Bud Light is no longer the number-one-selling beer in America.

That title now belongs to Modelo Especial—an import beer.

It looks like actions have consequences, and the conservative boycott has had massive effects on Anheuser-Busch, as the company continues to reel from its decision to partner with Dylan Mulvaney.

The Wall Street Journal reports:

 

Seth Dillion asks, “This is the first time in over two decades that Bud Light hasn’t held the top spot. Do you think other brands learn from this?

 

According to The Epoch Times, the sales data is as follows:

Modelo Especial, owned by Constellation Brands in the United States, is No. 1 and holds about 8.4 percent retail sales in the American beer market for the four-week period ending June 3, according to Bump Williams Consulting and Nielsen IQ data, according to several news reports.

Bud Light, the data shows, is now No. 2 with 7.3 percent of retail sales.

Anthony Pompliano explains

“Bud Light has been the #1 selling beer in America since 2001. Few products can dominant a category for more than two decades. But Modelo Especial just unseated Bud Light as the best selling beer. Good reminder that past success doesn’t guarantee future success.”

Even Memorial Day Weekend — one of the biggest beer-selling weekends of the year — provided anything but hopeful figures for Bud Light.

Leading up to the holiday weekend, the once popular beer brand’s sales plummeted 23.9% compared to the same period last year.
