80 Million vs. 2 Million: Tucker Rises, Fox News CRUMBLES in Ratings Battle!

David versus Goliath.

It’s a tale as old as time.

A plucky underdog tackling a monolithic adversary and coming out on top. It’s a tale that resonates within us all.

A part of us is always rooting for that brave little guy, right?

Now, what if I told you this tale is happening right before our eyes?

That’s right, folks. This isn’t a biblical yarn or a Hollywood blockbuster. This is happening here and now, right on our screens, shaking up the media world like never before.

Remember Tucker Carlson?

That fearless commentator with the razor-sharp wit who never shied away from asking the hard questions? Well, he’s up to something that could have been straight out of a Rocky movie.

We’re talking about a single 10-minute video that has attracted such a mammoth audience that it’s making Fox News look like a quaint little community channel.

How big?

It debuted to 67 million viewers.

And no it’s up to over 80 million!

It’s impressive, it’s undeniable, and it’s tearing down the old media order brick by brick.

But don’t take my word for it. In fact, the Daily Mail reports:

The first episode of Tucker Carlson’s much anticipated 10-minute Twitter show has attracted more than 80 million views and counting in less than 24 hours.

Conservatives claim the former Fox News host’s monologue ‘broke the media matrix,’ with over one million views within the first hour it was posted on June 6 but critics were not convinced and dismissed it as ‘amateurish.’

The short clip, which appeared next to a ‘Tucker on Twitter’ logo, has now reached 199k retweets, 657k likes and 81 million views and counting.

Some said that by the time they finished watching the number of views had already increased by a million.

For comparison, ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ on Fox News, which was the most-watched cable news show, received an average of 3.1 million viewers each weeknight during the weeks leading up to his shock firing.

Twitter owner Elon Musk was quick to praise the 54-year old former TV anchor: ‘Would be great to have shows from all parts of the political spectrum on this platform!’ he wrote while retweeting Carlson’s first episode.

Of course, everyone in the mainstream media is panicking.

Publicly, they’re trying to spin this against Carlson.

But the numbers speak for themselves.

Tucker got more viewers than Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC combined!

Ouch!

However, there’s a twist in the tale.

Fox News is not taking this move lightly. They’ve called their best lawyers, poured over the fine print of the contracts, and now they’re calling out Tucker for breaching his contract. Quite the roller coaster, isn’t it?

But wait, there’s more. Tucker, never one to shy away from a fight, is rallying behind the First Amendment, declaring that his freedom of speech is under siege. It’s a clash of media titans, a struggle for freedom, and a battle for the very essence of media ethics.

Sounds unbelievable?

Well, here’s what NBC is reporting:

Fox News told Tucker Carlson’s lawyers Wednesday that the former star anchor breached his contract with the conservative network when he released the first episode of a new show on Twitter this week, according to a source with direct knowledge of the matter.

Carlson, a firebrand right-wing media personality known for his conspiratorial rhetoric, parted ways with Fox News in late April, days after the network agreed to pay nearly $800 million to Dominion Voting Systems to avert a high-stakes defamation trial.

In a letter to Carlson’s lawyers, Fox News general counsel Bernard Gugar said the broadcaster was “in breach” of his contract, which was signed in November 2019 and amended in February 2021.

In a statement, Carlson’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, insisted that any legal action by Fox News would infringe on Carlson’s First Amendment rights.

“Fox defends its very existence on freedom of speech grounds,” Freedman said. “Now they want to take Tucker Carlson’s right to speak freely away from him because he took to social media to share his thoughts on current events.”

The news was first reported by Axios. NBC News has not seen a copy of the letter; the source with direct knowledge of the matter confirmed that all of the information in the Axios article was accurate.

So did you watch Tucker’s show?
