A ban on dozens of semi-automatic assault rifles now sits on the desk of Washington State governor Jay Inslee.
The ban cleared the state legislature Wednesday, and the democrat governor has made it clear he’s going to sign it.
Liberals on social media are responding as expected by touting this as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
As usual, they are completely missing the mark.
Our country is in the midst of a severe mental health crisis, spurred on by the Biden Administration itself.
As anyone with any sense understands, this ban will do very little if nothing to fix the problem.
Washington will become the tenth state to pass such a ban.

The Washington Times reported on the legislation, though they did so with an obvious bias:
A ban on dozens of semi-automatic rifles cleared the Washington state Legislature on Wednesday and the governor is expected to sign it into law.
The high-powered firearms – once banned nationwide – are now the weapon of choice among young men responsible for most of the country’s devastating mass shootings.
The ban comes after multiple failed attempts in the Legislature and in a year that has seen the most mass shootings during the first 100 days of a calendar year since 2009.
The law would cover more than 50 gun models, including AR-15s, AK-47s and similar style rifles, which fire one bullet per trigger pull and automatically reload for a subsequent shot. The bill bans their future sale, distribution, manufacture and importation, although some exemptions are included for sales to law enforcement agencies and the military in Washington.
Washington State’s democrat governor Jay Inslee could hardly contain himself on Twitter:
WA does not and will not accept gun violence as normal. Banning the sale of assault weapons, our bill to enact training requirements and a wait period, and the bill to improve accountability of manufacturers and retailers will save lives. #waleg https://t.co/6ceasI7JuL

KX News has more:
The law would go into effect immediately once it’s signed by Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee, who has long advocated for such a ban. When the bill passed the state House in March, Inslee said he’s believed in it since 1994 when, as a member of the U.S. Congress, he voted to make it a federal law.
“We refuse to accept gun violence as normal. Gun violence, in all its forms, can be prevented,” Inslee tweeted after the legislation first passed the Senate, thanking the Democratic lawmakers who control both chambers.
A ban on so-called assault weapons is far off in the U.S. Congress. But President Joe Biden and other Democrats have become increasingly emboldened in pushing for stronger gun controls — and doing so with no clear electoral consequences.
Nine states including California, New York and Massachusetts, along with the District of Columbia, have already passed similar bans, and the laws have been upheld as constitutional by the courts, according to Washington’s Attorney General Bob Ferguson.
It’s easy to garner the support of the progressive left by simply going with the simple “guns=bad” mantra.
Unfortunately nobody wants to address the real issues at play here, such as mental illness.
Disarming law abiding citizens makes liberals happy regardless…
Naturally, many have pointed to the fact that politicians like Inslee continue to miss the mark:
WA Democrats’ rifle ban (HB 1240) won’t reduce violence, says Sen. Jeff Wilson. That will take leaders who can address our real problems – mental health, drug abuse, public safety, and disorder in streets. Weapons are scapegoats. #waleg #UnsafeWA

Wow. Washington already has magazine capacity restrictions and red flags laws — which hasn't impacted rate of homicide involving firearms. Banning commonly-owned rifles involved in the fewest crimes annually won't reduce the rate, either. https://t.co/22ZKRlOb81
