Tech Mogul’s Murder Was ‘Planned’, Officials Say

Officials have provided an update on the ongoing investigation into Cash App founder, Bob Lee’s murder.

Lee was stabbed to death earlier this month in San Francisco and police announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to the case—Nima Momeni.

According to sources, Momeni allegedly stabbed Lee to death over an argument about Momeni’s sister—a married woman who was allegedly engaged in intimate text conversations with Lee.

Those same reports claim that Lee’s murder was preplanned and deliberate.

Initially, some believed that the murder of the tech entrepreneur was government or corporate-related—Lee was also a co-founder of Mobile Coin, a crypto asset that peaked at $72, but is currently trading at around $2.

Here’s what we currently know:

According to The Guardian:

The evening before the attack, Lee, the friend, and Khazar Elyassnia – who had met each other through Lee years earlier – were drinking together at another person’s apartment, according to the document.

The friend said they went to Lee’s hotel room, without Khazar Elyassnia, where the friend noticed a conversation in which Momeni was questioning Lee over whether his younger sister “was doing drugs or anything inappropriate”, according to the document.

Lee reassured Momeni that nothing inappropriate had happened. It is unclear whether the conversation took place in person or by phone.

Daily Mail shared this statement from the suspect’s legal team:

‘There’s so much more to this – and a much greater backstory – than what has been disclosed at all in the government’s pleading.’

Canny did not clarify what she meant by the comment, as questions continue to linger concerning Momeni’s background – as well as his apparent connection to Lee, who had been visiting San Francisco from Miami on business.
