It was only a matter of time. …
According to the latest reports, House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan has issued a subpoena to former Manhattan prosecutor Mark Pomerantz.
Pomerantz made headlines when he left the Manhattan DA’s office in 2022; the former prosecutor allegedly parted ways with Alvin Bragg over Bragg’s reluctance to bring a case against the 45th President of the United States.
Shortly afterward, Pomerantz released a book detailing elements of the case against President Trump—something which has since come under scrutiny. …
The former Manhattan prosecutor is set to appear before Congress on April 20th—roughly 2 weeks from now; we will bring you the latest developments as they occur.
For now, here are the details of the subpoena:

RSBN reports:
Another point of interest from the committee highlighted the Manhattan DA’s office acknowledgment of using “federal forfeiture funds” to investigate Trump, even during Pomerantz’s tenure.
The committee will conduct oversight on the matter and intends to “inform the consideration of potential legislative reforms that would, among other things, prevent state or local politically motivated prosecutions of current of former presidents.”
“By writing and releasing a book in the midst of an ongoing case, the author is upending the norms and ethics of prosecutorial conduct….potentially compromising an ongoing criminal investigation.’”

The Justice Department wasn't going to bring this case.
The previous District Attorney Cy Vance wasn't going to bring this case.
And even Alvin Bragg himself, when he first gets elected, didn’t want to bring the case.
But you know who did want to bring it? Mark Pomerantz.

CNN writes:
The move comes as Jordan has left the door open on whether to take the unprecedented step to subpoena Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, as part of the larger House Republican effort to discredit the case he has brought against Trump.
Pomerantz resigned from the Manhattan DA’s office in 2022 and said in his resignation letter that former President was “guilty of numerous felony violations” in connection to his annual financial statements.
He resigned one day after Bragg informed him that he wasn’t prepared to move forward with criminal charges at that point.
