This are brewing in Russia.
It seems that this nonsensical war of Ukraine will finally be winding down.
We’re not told the whole truth about that war, but what we do know is that truth will be coming out.
And so we see that President Trump is springing into action as he catches word that a deal might be on the table.
Trump raced to meet Putin after special envoy Steve Witkoff claimed deal was at hand: officials https://t.co/fycsmx1hUz pic.twitter.com/hom4O3ZuyZ

New York Post reports:
President Trump moved quickly to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska earlier this month after getting assurances from his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, that Moscow was ready to make a deal to end its war on Ukraine, US and European officials tell The Post.
Following a meeting in Moscow on Aug. 6, Witkoff had informed the president and other White House officials that Putin was ready to make concessions that would set up Trump to fulfill his campaign promise of ending Europe’s bloodiest conflict since World War II.
While Trump had hailed the news as “great progress” and announced plans for the Anchorage sitdown with his Russian counterpart two days later, the diplomatic push descended into chaos after it was revealed that Witkoff broke protocol by going to the meeting without a State Department notetaker — meaning no US record exists on paper of Putin’s exact proposal.
The fallout culminated with the anti-climactic Aug. 15 conference, at which Trump and Putin failed to secure a cease-fire deal or peace agreement.
The trouble began after Witkoff returned from Moscow with news that Putin was ready to cede territory to Ukraine in exchange for control of some of the land conquered by Kremlin forces over more than a decade of war.
While details of Putin’s demands remain unclear, Witkoff told European leaders the following day that Moscow was willing to give up its holdings in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions in exchange for all of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, sources familiar with the talks said.
A news source from Ukraine, RBC Ukraine, reports on the confusion arising from Witkoff:
The outlet reminded that on August 7, during a phone call with European leaders, Witkoff claimed that Putin was allegedly ready to withdraw troops from Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. In exchange, he demanded that Kyiv concede the Donbas.
ADVERTISEMENTHowever, the very next day, Witkoff began saying something completely different — that Putin had not offered to withdraw troops from Ukrainian territories. Both of Witkoff’s statements shocked European leaders and some US officials.
The media outlet notes that Witkoff is a New York real estate developer and a personal friend of Trump, but he has no diplomatic or political experience. This may explain the blatant violation of diplomatic protocol that Witkoff committed on August 6 during his meeting with Putin.
When heading to the Kremlin, Witkoff did not bring a State Department stenographer, leaving both himself and Washington without a record of Putin’s exact proposals. This caused all the subsequent confusion — it seems Witkoff simply could not accurately recall what was discussed with Putin.
European officials had to spend considerable time trying to clarify with their American counterparts exactly what Putin had said to Witkoff. On their part, most US officials themselves had a limited understanding of what had happened and what had been discussed in the Kremlin.
Not that I trust Witkoff, but what he says here in this clip is true. Translated, the post says:
U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff joins the petition for the Nobel Peace Prize for Donald J. Trump and says that the U.S. administration hopes the war will end by the end of this year 2025.
