JUST IN: Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel Instruct Their Agencies To Ignore Elon Musk Email

Trouble in paradise?

Is there an internal rift between Tulsi, Kash and Elon?

I don’t think so, but that’s what the MSM would have you believe this morning.

Allow me to explain….

A few days ago, Elon Musk sent out an email to all federal workers telling them they had until 11:59pm tonight (Monday) to respond with 5 things they accomplished in the past week:

Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.

So the email went out and immediately garnered hilarious “Office Space” comparisons:

If you’ve ever worked in corporate America (or far worse, government) you know how true this is:

Elon deployed a very similar strategy after purchasing Twitter and whittling down the staff by up to 80%.  Cut the dead weight.

So that’s the history, and now the latest out this morning….

According to multiple reports, Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel have each instructed their agencies to not respond to the email:

Here’s more, from Julian Barnes:

A clash between Tulsi, Kash and DOGE?

I don’t think so.

It’s just basic protection of national security.  Given the work those agencies do, Tulsi and Kash are wisely exempting their agencies but already cutting the dead weight in other ways.

Here’s more from the NY Post:

Elon Musk has further explained why he is demanding federal workers justify keeping their jobs — as newly confirmed Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard ordered her intelligence officers to ignore it.

The billionaire Tesla founder, who leads President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), said late Sunday that the controversial message asking workers to list five accomplishments from the past week or be fired was to see “who had a pulse and two working neurons.”

Musk doubled down Monday morning, warning that federal workers who do not send a list of their achievements by 11:59 p.m. would “soon be furthering their career elsewhere.”

Musk explained his email to federal employees was “to see who had a pulse and two working neurons.”

Despite DOGE’s threats to continue making cuts, multiple US agencies, including the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Education, Commerce and Energy have instructed staffers to ignore the message from Musk’s “department,” which is not an official part of the government.

Trump posts SpongeBob meme to poke fun at outrage over Elon Musk’s email asking federal workers what they did last week

Gabbard, who was recently sworn in as Trump’s spy chief, followed FBI Director Kash Patel in ordering her staff not to respond to Musk’s message, the New York Times reported.

“Given the inherently sensitive and classified nature of our work, [intelligence community] employees should not respond to the OPM email,” Gabbard wrote.

Her sentiments echo earlier statements made by Patel, who was sworn in to his 10-year term on Friday and told his workers the next day that they should not answer the demand letter.

“FBI personnel may have received an email from OPM requesting information. The FBI, through the Office of the Director, is in charge of all of our review processes and will conduct reviews in accordance with FBI procedures,” Patel wrote, according to an NBC report.

“When and if further information is required, we will coordinate the responses. For now, please pause any responses.”

Musk, who made similar demands during his takeover of Twitter — which he renamed X — insisted that the email demand was simply “a very basic pulse check.”

Meanwhile, Trump seemingly signaled his approval of Musk and DOGE’s unusual methods of downsizing the federal workforce by sharing an edited SpongeBob SquarePants meme poking fun at those upset by the order.

Bottom line?

In my opinion, there’s no rift here.

Just smart actions by all involved.
