JUST IN: Joy Reid’s Show Canceled at MSNBC!

One of President Donald Trump’s most vehement critics in the notoriously anti-Trump MSNBC primetime lineup has had her show axed in the most recent shakeup impacting the cable news industry.

Joy Reid, host of the 7 p.m. series “The ReidOut,” will reportedly air her final episode this week, marking the end of the show’s five-year run.

The time slot will reportedly be replaced by a new show featuring panelists Alicia Menendez, Michael Steele, and Symone Sanders Townsend.

The New York Post provided additional details:

It marks the first large-scale shake-up by MSNBC’s new president, Kutler, since she took over the liberal network earlier this month, as it looks to double down on its lefty agenda during the second Trump administration.

Reid, one of the most prominent Trump-bashers in the mainstream media, has been a long-serving anchor at the network, hosting the weekend talk show “AM Joy” since 2016 before being named anchor of the 7 p.m. slot in 2020.

She has made a series of infamous rants in recent months, including telling Trump supporters to “make your own dinner” at Thanksgiving, saying they should “suffer the consequences of your votes.”

The early response on social media consisted largely of criticism aimed at both Reid and MSNBC:

As for other programming changes expected at the left-wing cable channel, Fox News reported:

MSNBC’s new president, Rebecca Kutler, is planning to announce additional programming changes across dayside, weekends and primetime, a source familiar with the plans told Fox News Digital.

Jen Psaki, current host of “Inside with Jen Psaki,” is expected to end up with more airtime. Alex Wagner, who was bumped from hosting a primetime program when Rachel Maddow pivoted from hosting her show once a week to nightly for the first 100 days of the Trump administration, will remain with the network as a correspondent but is not expected to host a 9 p.m. ET program going forward.

MSNBC declined comment when reached by Fox News Digital.

“Inside with Jen Psaki” launched in 2023 and was the brainchild of Kutler. The show is MSNBC’s most-watched weekend program, so MSNBC giving more airtime to the former Biden administration press secretary has long been rumored.

Townsend, Steele and Menendez currently host “The Weekend,” which was also created by Kutler and launched in January 2024. Menendez, the daughter of disgraced former Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., will be the first Latina woman to host a primetime cable news program on MSNBC, as the new show will be two hours long and spill into primetime on Mondays. It will be one hour Tuesday through Friday.

MSNBC is in talks to add Politico’s Eugene Daniels and New York University law professor Melissa Murray to potentially join the network, Fox News Digital has learned.

While anti-Trump content from MSNBC and CNN fueled record ratings during his first term, the same strategy does not appear to be working with the president’s approval rating remaining strong — unlike that of the Democratic Party and mainstream media.

Vice President JD Vance recently delivered a laugh line at CNN’s expense during a CPAC appearance:
