‘Falling Off A Cliff’: Ex-Clinton Pollster Points To Troubling New Data For Democrats

The results of November’s election were widely seen not only as a mandate for President Donald Trump but also a repudiation of the extremist policies advanced by the Biden administration and Democratic Party leaders over the past four years.

While the mainstream media has spent the months since then predicting Trump’s downfall, influential former Clinton pollster Mark Penn says the American people have only become more disillusioned by the Democrats.

As the Daily Caller reported:

“Well, I’ve got some new polling coming out Monday that I’ve just looked at. Frankly, the Democratic Party is falling off a cliff,” Penn said. “The ratings, which were in the high 40s, are gonna be like 35%.”

“I think the basic question, ‘Who’s doing a better job as president, Biden or Trump?’ Trump is winning that with 57%,” Penn added. “I think you’re seeing a retrospective assessment of Biden and the direction the Democratic Party was going. It really [is] a lot more negative than it was on election day.”

During her campaign, pundits questioned Harris’ attacks against Trump as her team ramped up rhetoric, such as calling the president a “fascist,” as the former vice president failed to connect with voters on their top concerns regarding the economy, inflation, and immigration. Post-election polls conducted by The New York Times show Harris not only earned 7 million fewer votes than former President Joe Biden in 2020, but also fell short in three of the seven key swing states and in 80% of counties nationwide.

Evidence of the party’s apparent continued self-destruction has been pouring in over the past several weeks:

As a recent op-ed published by The Hill argued, the current Democratic Party lacks both “a message and a messenger”:

Because November made it inescapable, there’s been an unrelenting focus on the Democrats’ message. Coming from opposite perspectives, James Carville and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) have made the same point: Democrats’ message needs fixing. Countless others have added their voices.

Lost in this microscopic focus on message is the fact that Democrats also have no messengers. Biden, Harris and Walz were all swept from the national stage by Trump’s tsunami. Bernie Sanders is too old.

Nancy Pelosi is both too old and now discredited by Trump’s return. Pelosi started the concerted operations against Trump back in 2019 with House hearings, investigations, and impeachments. She was the mastermind behind Biden’s removal and Harris’s insertion. Her tearing-up of Trump’s 2020 State of the Union address ironically presaged her own fate.

Despite her disdain for Trump, she could pull every lever, but still not concoct a strategy for defeating him. Now he is back and stronger than ever; she is being primaried in 2026 by an acolyte of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).

NewsNation recently reported on the dissatisfaction many Democrats have with their own party:
