BREAKING: Pope Francis Is In Critical Condition, May Resign Imminently

I hope you’re ready for a new Pope, because it looks like you’re going to get one in 2025.

What a year it has been, and it’s only February!

I don’t wish ill will or poor health on anyone, but I also won’t be shedding many tears when this “Pope” vacates the Earth….how about you?

And it looks like that might be happening sooner rather than later as new reports out today have the Pope in critical condition after a “severe asthmatic respiratory crisis” earlier this morning:

In other words, his body is shutting down.

The BBC reports his condition as “complex”:

Pope Francis’s condition continues to be “critical” after suffering a “prolonged asthma-like respiratory crisis” earlier on Saturday, the Vatican has said.

The pontiff is “more unwell than yesterday” and had received blood transfusions, the statement said.

The Vatican said the 88-year-old was alert and in his armchair, but required a “high flow” of oxygen and his prognosis “remains guarded”.

The Pope is being treated for pneumonia in both lungs at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome.

The blood transfusions were deemed necessary due to a low platelet count, associated with anaemia, the Vatican said.

“The Holy Father’s condition remains critical,” a statement said. “The Pope is not out of danger.”

“The Holy Father continues to be alert and spent the day in an armchair even if he was suffering more than yesterday,” the statement added.

The Pope was first admitted to hospital on 14 February after experiencing difficulties breathing for several days.

Earlier, the Vatican had announced Pope Francis would not appear in public to lead prayer with pilgrims on Sunday, meaning he will miss the event for the second week in a row.

On Friday his doctors said there was no imminent risk to his life but he was “not out of danger”.

His condition has previously been described as complex.

Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi has recently went on record to suggest Pope Francis may resign soon.

Ravasi said the Pontiff is ‘decisive’, and that he might step down if his health makes him unable to fulfill his duties.

“’I think he could do it because he is a person who is quite decisive in his choices’, said Cardinal Ravasi in an interview with Italian radio network RTL on Thursday.”

“’He has always had the tendency to fight and react and that is a legitimate choice too, because he has been able to handle trips in very difficult and challenging conditions, like the one in the Far East’, Cardinal Ravasi said, referring to the Pope’s gruelling 20,000-mile trip last year to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Singapore.

‘However, there is no question that if he found himself in a situation where he was compromised in his ability to have direct contact – as he loves to do – to be able to communicate in an immediate, incisive and decisive way, then I believe he might consider resigning’.”

Because things are not looking great for Pope Francis, nor is he looking good in new photos and videos.

The AP reports the Pope is struggling to speak for extended periods of time:

Pope Francis was hospitalized Friday after a weeklong bout of bronchitis worsened and was receiving drug therapy for a respiratory tract infection, the Vatican said. It was the latest setback to the 88-year-old’s pontiff’s health that forced him to cancel his agenda through Monday at least.

Francis was serene, in good spirits and had read some newspapers after arriving at Rome’s Gemelli hospital after presiding over his morning audiences, Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said.

In an evening bulletin, the Vatican said preliminary tests showed Francis had a respiratory tract infection, was running a mild fever and was in “fair” condition at Gemelli where he was undergoing drug therapy.

Francis has complained of breathing trouble and was diagnosed with bronchitis Feb. 6, but had continued to hold daily audiences in his Vatican hotel suite. He had presided at an outdoor Mass on Sunday and attended his general audience Wednesday. But he has been handing off his speeches for an aide to read aloud, saying he was having trouble breathing.

On Friday, he appeared bloated and pale during the handful of audiences he held before going to the hospital. The bloating appeared to indicate that the medication he was taking to help treat the lung infection was making him retain water.

Christopher Lamb, CNN’s Vatican correspondent, saw Francis at the beginning of an audience Friday with CNN head Mark Thompson, and said the pope was mentally alert but struggling to speak for extended periods due to breathing difficulties.

Francis, who had part of one lung removed as a young man, has long battled health problems, especially bouts of acute bronchitis in winter. He uses a wheelchair, walker or cane when moving around his apartment and recently fell twice, hurting his arm and chin.

Francis has made a number of visits to the hospital in recent years, and received abdominal surgery in 2023. He has been struggling with bronchitis in recent weeks and has asked aides to read speeches and addresses.

But he held audiences at the Vatican on Friday morning before his hospitalization, including with the prime minister of Slovakia and with Mark Thompson, the Chief Executive of CNN. Christopher Lamb, CNN’s Vatican Correspondent, who saw Francis at the beginning of that meeting, said the pope was mentally alert but struggling to speak for extended periods due to breathing difficulties.

The latest diagnosis of bronchitis will cause particular worries for the Roman Catholic Church, because Francis has suffered from lung-related issues for much of his life. As a young man, the Argentinian leader suffered from severe pneumonia and had part of one lung removed.

Francis became pope in 2013, the first pontiff from South America. More recently he has been seen with a walking stick and sometimes uses a wheelchair. Last month, he suffered a fall and injured his arm.

Francis also suffers from diverticulitis, a common condition that can cause the inflammation or infection of the colon. In 2021, he had surgery to remove part of his colon.

Nope, not even on Christmas Eve is Pope Francis putting the spotlight on Jesus, instead choosing to open five portals.

Yes, really.

Allow me to explain....

As you can see from the Community Note above, the NY Post has been "Fact Checked" a bit and I'll explain everything.

The tradition of opening "Holy Doors" or "Sacred Portals" sounds demonic and sacrilegious, but actually dates back to the year 1300.

Here is a quick summary:

The tradition called "Holy Doors" by the Pope during Jubilee Years, an event that does not occur every Christmas Eve but has historical significance within the Catholic Church. Here's a detailed overview:

Origin and Evolution:
The practice of opening Holy Doors began in 1300 when Pope Boniface VIII proclaimed the first Christian Jubilee. Initially, it was intended as a centennial celebration, but over time, the frequency was reduced to every 25 years, with some extraordinary jubilees declared in between. The first time Holy Doors were specifically opened was in 1423 at the Basilica of St. John Lateran by Pope Martin V.

The Ritual:
The Holy Doors are located in four major basilicas in Rome: St. Peter's Basilica, St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and St. Paul Outside the Walls. These doors, usually bricked up after the last Jubilee, are ceremonially opened to mark the start of a new Jubilee Year. For the 2025 Jubilee Year, Pope Francis will open these doors starting from Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024. Additionally, for the first time, a symbolic Holy Door will be opened at Rebibbia Prison on December 26, symbolizing hope and redemption for those incarcerated.

Purpose:
The opening of the Holy Doors is a symbolic act meant to signify the passage to salvation, offering pilgrims a chance to gain plenary indulgences, which are full remissions of the temporal punishment due to sin. While the Catholic tradition of Holy Doors does not have a direct biblical mandate, it draws inspiration from this concept of Jubilee as a time for atonement and renewal.

Demonic or Controversial Interpretations:
Some sources, particularly from those who view Catholic practices through a skeptical or conspiratorial lens, have speculated about the opening of these doors being linked to demonic activities or supernatural portals. However, these views are not supported by official Catholic doctrine or historical practice. The Catholic Church frames this ritual in terms of spiritual symbolism, emphasizing themes of hope, mercy, and redemption. Speculations about demonic connections are more reflective of broader conspiracy theories rather than the Church's intentions or teachings.

So they're doing it again this year on Christmas Eve no less, and adding a fifth door.

The fifth door is the "never been done before" part.

Pope Francis will commence a centuries-long Catholic tradition on Christmas Eve and introduce a first-time, historical addition to the holy ritual.

Starting on Dec. 24, the pontiff will open a series of five Holy Doors throughout the Vatican, including St. Peter’s Basilica, plus Rome’s three other basilicas to commence next year’s Catholic Church jubilee — a joyful commemoration of faith that normally occurs every 25 years.

The door at St. Peter’s was sealed shut by a wall of bricks since the Jubilee Year of Divine Mercy in 2016 and, on Dec. 2, those were ripped down to ready the door for opening as part of the rite of “recognition.”

After that Christmas Eve ritual, Pope Francis will open a symbolic door inside the Roman prison Rebibbia on Dec. 26, the feast of St. Stephen.

“I think of prisoners who, deprived of their freedom, daily feel the harshness of detention and its restrictions, lack of affection, and, in more than a few cases, lack of respect,” Pope Francis said.

“In order to offer prisoners a concrete sign of closeness, I would myself like to open a Holy Door in a prison, as a sign inviting prisoners to look to the future with hope and a renewed sense of confidence.”

The objective of opening the doors later this month is to usher in a year “renewed in hope” as Christians find Christ as the “door of our salvation,” Pope Francis wrote in a proclamation, or “bull of indication,” for the 2025 year-long celebration.

“God’s word helps us find reasons for that hope,” he added. “In the heart of each person, hope dwells as the desire and expectation of good things to come, despite our not knowing what the future may bring.”

Yeah, I don't know....feels really weird and wrong to me.

Why does the Catholic Church have to keep inventing all this nonsense?

Is preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ too boring for them?

Maybe just preach about Jesus, try that for once Pontiff!
