Is ‘SNL’ Now Even Too Anti-MAGA For Joy Behar?

If the devil wears Prada, he’d better hope it’s insulated — because it appears hell has just frozen over.

“The View” co-host Joy Behar, perhaps the shrillest of all the show’s MAGA-hating personalities, is actually defending President Donald Trump’s voters who are offended by their portrayal in a recent “Saturday Night Live” sketch.

As Variety reported, Behar told viewers that she understood why the blatant stereotype rubbed so many Americans the wrong way:

“The fact remains that they’re making anyone who voted for Trump look like a racist, and that’s why they’re mad,” Behar said about the backlash. “I personally would never do that, because I don’t believe that any group is one thing.”

“A lot of these people [who voted for Trump], in my opinion, have been misled,” she continued. “They thought that grocery prices would come down. They’re up. They thought inflation was coming down. It’s up. They thought that Medicaid was safe. It’s not. They thought Social Security was safe. It’s not. So it’s not only racism that caused Trump to be in office. We have to remember that. So of course they’re going to be insulted.”

Behar’s “The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin previously worked in Trump’s White House and said she “personally thinks the outrage over it is a little overblown.”

One could argue whether Behar has been guilty of such generalizations in the past. And as the excerpt above reveals, the conversation quickly shifted back to a familiar anti-Trump refrain.

She recently had something to say after Fox News Channel aired Sean Hannity’s interview with both Trump and Elon Musk, as Breitbart reported:

HANNITY: He’s your tech support.

TRUMP: I actually he’s much more than that.

MUSK: I am tech support. But.

TRUMP: He gets it done. He’s a leader. You know, I wanted to find somebody smarter than him. I searched all over. I just couldn’t do it.

BEHAR: They should have had this on Valentine’s Day. But wait, there’s more. A man from Trump’s past is not going quietly. His former White House chief strategist, Steve Bannon. Remember him? He’s lashing out in a new interview saying, quote, ‘Musk is a parasitic illegal immigrant. He wants to impose his freak experiments and play acts as God without any respect for the country’s history, values or traditions.’ That’s from Bannon. So will Bannon break up the happy couple. And who’s going to get the rose? Turn into The Bachelor D.C. edition.
