Elon Musk Hints At “DOGE Dividend” Checks — $5,000 To Every Taxpaying Household!

As Elon Musk and DOGE have been uncovering massive amounts of government waste, fraud, and corruption, I’m pretty sure many of you have been thinking something along the lines of, “I want my money back!”

I sure have.

And, it looks like that may very well be in the works…

Elon Musk recently confirmed that he and President Trump will discuss a way to give some money that DOGE has saved back to the American people.

The proposed idea is some form of “DOGE dividend,” which would potentially send out a $5,000 tax refund to every taxpaying household in America!

Here’s what we know so far:

The “DOGE Dividend” was originally proposed by investment firm CEO James Fishburn on X:

Forbes broke it down:

• James Fishback, CEO of investment firm Azoria and reportedly an outside adviser to DOGE, pitched the idea of “a tax refund check to be sent after the expiration of DOGE in July 2026 funded exclusively with a portion of the total savings delivered by DOGE” on social media on Friday, and continued posting about it Tuesday, tagging Musk in a tweet about the proposal.
• The proposal calls for 20% of DOGE’s targeted $2 trillion in savings to be returned to “the ~79 million tax-paying households,” which Fishback said would result in about a $5,000 return per household.
• Musk responded to Fishback’s proposal, saying he “will check with the president.”

Elon Musk showed interest in an idea that would guarantee a $5,000 payment, or ‘DOGE Dividend,’ to every American to show off the $55 billion in taxpayer funds saved.

The Department of Government Efficiency revealed Tuesday that President Donald Trump has saved taxpayers a staggering $55 billion in less than a month.

DOGE claims the savings were found through a combination of detecting and deleting fraud, canceling contracts and leases, and selling assets.

Investment firm CEO James Fishback had an idea for how to make Americans aware of how much of their money was being saved.

‘President Trump and @ElonMusk should announce a ‘DOGE Dividend’—a tax refund check sent to every taxpayer, funded exclusively with a portion of the total savings delivered by DOGE,’ he wrote.

Musk replied, curious, but said that he ‘will check with the President.’

Fishback added: ‘American taxpayers deserve a ‘DOGE Dividend’: 20% the money that DOGE saves should be sent back to hard-working Americans as a tax refund check.’

‘It was their money in the first place! At $2 trillion in DOGE savings and 78 million tax-paying households, this is a $5,000 refund per household, with the remaining used to pay down the national debt. Elon Musk, let’s do this! This is how we rebuild trust in our government.’
