After nearly a decade of President Donald Trump dominating the national political conversation, it’s hardly surprising anymore when a celebrity shares a distasteful opinion about him.
When “Star Wars: Voyager” actor Robert Picardo recently reacted to Trump’s second-term agenda with a call to erase an entire holiday from the calendar, however, it drew some attention.
As Breitbart reported:
Actor Robert Picardo, who played The Doctor on Star Trek: Voyager, said that America should cancel Presidents Day due to Trump allegedly canceling “our justice system” and other causes.
Picardo issued his decree on the social media platform Blue Sky.
“Being that papers straws, The Gulf of Mexico and our justice system have been recently cancelled, let’s cancel Presidents’ Day,” he said.
While Picardo shared his thoughts on Blue Sky, a social media platform favored by leftists, the commentary surrounding Presidents Day was notably different on X:
Since Trump recognizes the significance of names, why not encourage the nation to drop Presidents' Day and celebrate the holiday using its official name, George Washington's Birthday? The Father of our country deserves his own holiday. He shouldn't have to share it with Biden.

Happy Washington’s Birthday to all who celebrate the real holiday.
Happy “Presidents’ Day” to all the participation-trophy people. pic.twitter.com/h9RsiiDYCL

The Trump White House rang in the holiday by chronicling the president’s remarkable return to office, as The Hill reported:
The White House touted President Trump’s comeback from facing multiple legal issues to his 2024 victory to mark Presidents Day on Monday.
It shared an image on social media of Trump’s mug shot from when he was indicted in Georgia in August 2023 next to an image of Trump’s official presidential portrait.
“They’re not just after me, they’re after you — I’m just standing in the way,” the post read, citing a quote from Trump following his June 2023 indictment in the federal documents case.
Meanwhile, a number of protests broke out, primarily in deep-blue cities, against the Trump administration on Monday:
