‘I’ll Be Back’: Tom Homan Issues Clear Warning To NYC Mayor To His Face On Live TV

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been something of a political anomaly in recent years. Although he retains many of the leftist views that got him elected in the deep blue city, he has offered a contrarian view on the topic of illegal immigration.

After his city received an influx of migrants from Texas, the mayor began to recognize the inherent fallacy of sanctuary city policies and started speaking out, much to the chagrin of his fellow Democrats.

He recently shared a Fox News Channel segment with President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan to discuss a few common objectives.

At one point, however, Homan made it clear that he would not simply take Adams at his word.

As they discussed in the on-air conversation with “Fox & Friends” co-hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earnhardt, and Brian Kilmeade, per Breitbart:

DOOCY: You are sitting today talking about the new alliance between ICE and Adams. So, thank you very much for coming.

EARHARDT: Thank you so much.

ADAMS: Thank you. Alliance was never severe.

HOMAN: And if he doesn’t come —

KILMEADE: You’re up early anyway.

(CROSSTALK)

HOMAN: If he doesn’t come through, I’ll be back in New York City.

KILMEADE: Yeah.

HOMAN: And we won’t be sitting on a couch. I’ll be in his office, up his butt, saying where the hell is the agreement we came to, so.

ADAMS: And I want ICE to deliver. I want ICE to deliver. We’re going to deliver for the safety of the American people.

KILMEADE: Right.

ADAMS: Let’s focus on every American and New Yorker should have the right to have an opportunity and survive in this city.

DOOCY: We’re going to hold you to that.

Adams’ change of heart on the issue of border security has been a common topic of social media discussion for months:

Here’s how NBC News covered the uneasy alliance between the Adams administration and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement:

“I came to New York City and I wasn’t going to leave with nothing,” Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, said Friday morning in a joint interview with Adams on “Fox and Friends.”

Adams sat side by side with Homan, the man Trump installed to crack down on migrants, during the Fox interview after the Justice Department was thrown into turmoil with the sudden departure of six top federal prosecutors and officials — including the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, Danielle R. Sassoon.

The resignations came after acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, who was Trump’s criminal defense attorney, ordered Sassoon to dismiss the charges, arguing in part that they were interfering in Adams’ ability to help the administration tackle illegal immigration.
