Ah, the thrill of flying.
But nothing makes you feel more alive than an emergency landing.
And thats precisely what happened to passengers aboard American Airlines flight 1478, that took a pit stop in Jackson, Mississippi.
They had to call it quits mid-air due to a “possible maintenance issue”.
Does that mean a DEI hire left a wrench in the engine?
Or perhaps forgot to tighten the bolts on the wing? Hey, that could happen to anyone.
Even passengers reported engine troubles right after takeoff, which is always a comforting thought.
Doesn’t sound like they should’ve even taken off.
Do people check these planes before they take off for flights?
Why don’t they check these planes before flights?
Why are you people still going on flights?
If someone tells me they’ve got a plane to catch, my first thought is now “So, you’re bored with life, are you? Need some thrilling excitement, eh?” (Unfortunately some need to travel for work. Tell them to email you the files and FaceTime you.)
By the way, can we get DOGE to look into this whole industry?

Yahoo News reports:
An airplane that was flying to Houston, Texas, made an emergency landing in Jackson, Mississippi.
According to officials, American Airlines flight 1478 was traveling from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Houston, Texas, on Thursday, February 13 when it diverted to the Jackson–Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport due to a possible maintenance issue.
The Economic Times adds:
American Airlines aircraft makes emergency landing
This comes just after the ghastly American Airlines flight collision with a military chopper over Washington DC on January 29, that claimed numerous lives. The flight then crashed right into the Potomac River following the deadly collision, leaving zero survivors.
Engine troubles right after take off, says passenger
A passenger aboard the flight that took off from Charlotte claimed that the aircraft was facing engine troubles right after it took off and the passengers were transferred to another flight later on. The passenger also said that they were relieved that the plane made the emergency landing at the international airport in Jackson since there could have been another possible crash if the plane went ahead towards its destination.
Seems like this is a trend now for America Airlines.
Are they in competition with Boeing to have the worst name attached to air travel?

Remember last year when the passengers were held ‘hostage’ on the plane for 3 hours, waiting for someone to let them off?
I literally just had to dial 911 for someone to help us get off this plane!!!! They said they can’t do anything about @americanair holding us on the tarmac …. engines running…. going nowhere….. since 4:22 pm CST. It is now 7:08om CST. At first we were delayed because they… pic.twitter.com/afKKbwzRve

There was also the time last year:
- When a laptop battery caught fire.
- A male passenger stood up and started urinating on the spot.
- Not enough oxygen. Yeah, read that again. That caused the passenger to faint. She’s now suing.
