Here’s what MSN reported:
A 2.8 magnitude earthquake that rattled Las Vegas Monday hit just miles from the secretive US Air Force base Area 51.
ADVERTISEMENTThe United States Geological Survey (USGS) says the quake struck 32 miles southeast of Beatty that sits about 60 miles from the mysterious military facility.
Area 51 has become a cultural phenomenon thanks to decades of conspiracy theories connecting the base to UFOs, aliens, and experimental aircraft testing.
The announcement of a large tremor right on the base’s doorstep will likely ramp up the speculation of what might be happening underground at this top secret facility – even if this was just an ordinary earthquake.
The small earthquake was detected at 2:11 a.m. PST Monday.
Although an earthquake above 2.5 in magnitude can often be felt and cause minor damage, there have not been any reports of injuries due to the quake.
Nevada is one of the most seismically active states in the country, according to the National Parks Service.

Here’s what The Irish Star Reported:
A mysterious secret military testing base near Las Vegas has been hit by an earthquake. The tremor followed a massive tremor that triggered tsunami warnings in the Caribbean. The United States Geological Survey reported a 2.8-magnitude shake near the highly classified Area 51 base in Nevada, an area alleged to be the center of alien experimentation.
The quake struck east of Amargosa Valley, approximately 50 miles from the infamous United States Air Force facility, which is notorious for conspiracy theories regarding its links to extraterrestrial life and UFOs. It remains unclear whether the minor tremor caused any structural damage to the base, which has a perimeter of roughly 11 miles and requires high-level clearance for access.
