President Trump has long emphasized military readiness over social agendas.
His new Secretary of Defense is no different.
And neither of them are taking the slow scenic route to setting our military back on the path of strength and military dominance, or beating around the bush about what that means.
It means a pushback against the “Woke Leftist Ideologues”, to quote President Trump’s Truth Social post yesterday.
And it means having the backbone to recognize and say out loud that the phrase “our diversity is our strength” is the dumbest phrase in all of military history — which is exactly what Pete Hegseth just said.
To put it bluntly, they are both on the same page. Out with the “woke mind virus” and in with the overpowering unmitigated might of the U.S. military focused on one thing: waging war.
As soon as the election was over, the Trump team went to work preparing day upon day, week upon week of methodical action to set this country right again.
And setting the military back on the right path was something on their agenda from the beginning.

Of course, there was pushback.
And some of that pushback came in the form of actions meant to conceal the DEI methodology used for the past for years.
The goal was to preempt the expected purge of ‘woke’ military leaders in an attempt to survive the Trump presidency.

But it doesn’t seem like the attempt to conceal four years of DEI nonsense is going to work.
President Trump just made good on one of his promises.
In a sweeping action aimed at a military-wide shift in focus, he is firing the ‘woke ideologues’ who make up the U.S. military academies “Board of Visitors”.

The board is responsible for overseeing curriculum, ensuring that the teaching materials at U.S. military schools are in line with national priorities.
All those ridiculous news stories over the last four years with military brass pushing diversity, sexual fluidity, and proper ‘woke’ pronoun usage — those were all directly tied to the Boards of Visitors.
And since that board is definitively not in line with President Trump’s priorities for the nation, he is shaking things up, according to a report by the New York Post:
President Trump announced Monday he would be dismissing members of the Boards of Visitors of four service academies to combat “woke leftist ideologues.”
The boards of visitors provide academy officials with advice and recommendations on the operation of each institution.
Each board consists of six members appointed by the president, three appointed by the vice president, four appointed by the House speaker, one designated by the Senate Armed Services Committee and one designated by the House Armed Services Committee.
Former President Joe Biden pushed out Trump’s first-term appointees in September 2021, asking 18 board members to step down.
The move was meant to ensure the members were “aligned” with Biden’s vision for the military and to make sure they were “qualified to serve on them,” then-White House press secretary Jen Psaki said at the time.
The Trump appointees who were asked to step down in 2021 included several prominent allies of the 45th president, including Kellyanne Conway, Sean Spicer, Russ Vought and Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster.

President Trump announced the move on his Truth Social account:
Here’s the full text of his post for easier reading:
Our Service Academies have been infiltrated by Woke Leftist Ideologues over the last four years. I have ordered the immediate dismissal of the Board of Visitors for the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard. We will have the strongest Military in History, and that begins by appointing new individuals to these Boards. We must make the Military Academies GREAT AGAIN!
If there was any expectation of daylight between President Trump’s position and that of his Secretary of Defense, be assured there is not.
Check out this clip of Hegseth from a few weeks ago, boldly saying just how dumb it is for a military to fixate on “diversity” and consider that focus something that creates “strength”.
HOLY SH*T 🚨 Pete Hegseth just crushed DEI for good in the military. "One of the dumbest phrases in military history is 'our diversity is our strength”
He said if you don’t like that, you can get out

Hegseth reiterated that stance with the same clarity just a few days ago while discussing the shift ongoing inside the Department of Defense from “diversity” to actual strength.
Echoing George Washington’s farewell address, Hegseth pinpointed the true source of “strength” for America — not just in terms of military might — and that is our UNITY…
As Washington detailed, that unity is derived NOT from our perfectly overlapping value systems or cultural backgrounds, but from our shared love of freedom.
Here’s Hegseth nailing that point as reported by the Washington Post:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s office referred questions to DoDEA. Speaking to a group of Pentagon staff members Friday, he emphasized his belief that a focus on diversity in the Defense Department is destructive.
ADVERTISEMENT“I think the single, dumbest phrase in military history is, ‘Our diversity is our strength,’” Hegseth said. “I think our strength is our unity.”
He added that people should be treated equally regardless of their background, upbringing, gender or race, and judged based on their merit and commitment to the team and its mission.
“That’s how it has been. That’s how it will be,” Hegseth said. “Any inference otherwise is meant to divide or create complications that otherwise should not and do not exist.”
One of the consistent difference I have noticed between the rhetoric of the “woke leftist ideologues”, as President Trump correctly identified them, and the rhetoric coming from the conservative anti-woke right is the logic of the reasoning.
‘Woke’ ideologies are not grounded in sound logic or reason, and conservative ideologies are.
That makes a big difference when you let those principles — or lack thereof — loose to play on the battlefields of the real world.
Principles are true things, and they stand up to reality.
Mere ideologies are often simply the shadowy emotionally charged cravings of people who let both their sin and their imaginations run amok.
If you’re going to fight a war, you need to operate according to what is solid, real, and effectual; not by what is defined only in psychological text books — and even then often an abhoration of anything resembling true science.
With the current threat environment on the world stage reaching dangerous levels, this is not the time for America’s warfighters to become fixated on contrived sexual confusion or imaginary issues that will never impact the battlefield.
This is a time for strong leadership and a return to the focus on simple military discipline that makes America’s armed forces the best on the planet.
And if there are ideologies creeping in — let them be historically honest ideologies of American Exceptionalism, a true understanding of Biblical patriotism, and principles revolving around grit, endurance, and sacrifice.
Those ideologies compliment the discipline of a warfighter.
But the simple truth is, you don’t have to manufacture those concepts and inject them into military training for them to show up.
They are the very real truths that make up the fabric of reality of combat.
Teach our soldiers how to be tough, how to persevere, and how to discipline themselves — and those other things will be learned in the process.
Not from some awful Power Point presentation, but from the proving ground where the soles of combat boots meet the unforgiving harsh realities of war.
A president could sign a thousand Executive Orders and never expunge THOSE ideologies from a true fighting force — because those are the lessons learned in the trenches when nothing matters… except what really matters.
