Multiple people sustained injuries after a vehicle exploded near the El Paso International Airport, sparking a vicious inferno.
“Police are responding to the Sun Metro Trasit Operations Center to assist Fire Department in a building fire. Traffic closed at Montana and Wedgewood and Montana /Global Reach. Avoid the area,” the El Paso Police Department said.

Just before 4 p.m., El Paso Fire Department posted on X confirming crews were responding to a condition 4 fire at the Sun Metro Transit Operations Center.
More than 100 firefighters and more than 40 fire units responded, according to El Paso strategic communications director Laura Cruz Acosta.
The fire was later upgraded to a second alarm, which means the fire escalated and more firefighters were needed to battle the blaze.
ADVERTISEMENTSeven patients were assessed, and four were taken to area hospitals, according to the fire department. No fatalities were reported.
KFOX14 reported a vehicle exploded, possibly inside the Sun Metro center, igniting the fire.
The roof and walls of the building collapsed in the fire, FOX 4 reported.

KFOX14 reports:
EPFD said people evacuated the area and a total of seven people were injured.
Out of those seven injured, four were taken to the hospital, while three refused.
Out of the four sent to hospitals, three were taken to Del Sol Medical Center were they say two are in critical condition and one is in serious condition.
Fire officials first described it as a vehicle explosion, however now they are still investigating the cause and now can’t confirm if it was that.
ADVERTISEMENTThe El Paso Police Department closed Montana Avenue in all directions between Wedgewood and Yarbrough at first, but by 4:20 p.m. they started opening lanes going east.
