‘Death Threats’ Reportedly Prevent Elon Musk From Physically Attending Conference

Elon Musk reportedly did not physically attend a conference in Miami last week due to ‘death threats.’

“@elonmusk and his mom @mayemusk spoke today at the @jpmorgan investment conference in Miami. Musk was interviewed by David Rubenstein remotely because he said his work with Trump and DOGE has led to ‘death threats,’ said a person in the audience. He said expects DOGE to cut $2 trillion from the government budget and he’s working night and day, so much in fact, he said he’s sleeping on the couch,” journalist Charles Gasparino said.

“He said he expects his DOGE/White House work to last about four months, people there say. It was a wide-ranging address where he spoke for 40 mins, went through his childhood and to what he’s doing now with Trump, who, he speaks to incessantly. Conference was put on by Mary Erdoes, head of $JPM’s wealth management division, and included heavyweights from across biz and government,” he added.

Per Newsmax:

Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin on Friday used social media to share an open letter confirming his office would investigate reports of threats against Musk.

“Please let me reiterate again: if people are discovered to have broken the law or even acted simply unethically, we will investigate them and we will chase them to the end of the Earth to hold them accountable,” Martin wrote on X. “We will not rest or cease in this. No one should abuse American taxpayer dollars nor American taxpayer workers. Noone is above the law.”

Four days earlier, Martin shared a similar letter sent to Elon Musk.

“Dear @elon, Please see this important letter. We will not tolerate threats against DOGE workers or law-breaking by the disgruntled. All the best. Ed Martin,” the interim U.S. attorney wrote on X.

From The National News Desk:

Martin wrote earlier this week that he was aware of threats allegedly facing Musk’s DOGE team.

“At this time, I ask that you utilize me and my staff to assist in protecting DOGE work and the DOGE workers,” he wrote. “Any threats, confrontations, or other actions in any way that impact their work may break numerous laws.”

The investigation follows a post to Bluesky by Boston University media technician Jared May, which listed Musk’s DOGE staffers as wanted “dead or alive,” according to reports and screenshots on social media. Musk responded via X, noting “he has committed a crime.”

Rep. Val Hoyle, D-Ore., on Thursday announced she would abandon the House’s DOGE Caucus, citing difficulties with Musk.

“It is impossible for us to do that important work when unelected billionaire Elon Musk and his lackeys are set on burning down the government—and the law—to line his own pockets and rip off Americans across the country who depend on government services to live with dignity,” she said in a statement.
