Four Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) employees have been fired after the agency allegedly sent $59 million to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants.
According to NewsNation, the Department of Homeland Security issued a statement saying the firings are “effective immediately.”
The individuals fired include FEMA’s chief financial officer, two program analysts, and a grant specialist.
“FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants,” the statement said, according to NewsNation.
“Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS will not sit idly and allow deep state activists to undermine the will and safety of the American people,” it added.

This comes as President Donald Trump again calls for FEMA to be abolished.
“FEMA spent tens of millions of dollars in Democrat areas, disobeying orders, but left the people of North Carolina high and dry,” Trump said on Truth Social. “It is now under review and investigation.”
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also said she wants Trump to “get rid” of FEMA as it exists today.
“I would say, yes, get rid of FEMA the way it exists today. We still need the resources and the funds and the finances to go to people that have these types of disasters, like Hurricane Helen and the fires in California,” Noem said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday. “But you need to let the local officials make the decisions on how that is deployed, so it can be deployed much quicker.”

Elon Musk claimed Monday morning that FEMA sent $59 million “last week to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants.”
“Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order. That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals! A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds,” he added.

The recent firings at FEMA are unrelated to the hurricanes and come after Elon Musk revealed last week the scale of payments made to New York hotels.
Musk hinted over the weekend which federal agency his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) could shut down next after it eviscerated USAID last week.
President Trump’s billionaire ‘first buddy’ has been on a rampage with his new-found power over the U.S. government.
He revealed on X that DOGE discovered FEMA sent $59 million to hotels to house illegal immigrants in the Big Apple – directly against Trump’s orders for such funding to stop.
Musk demanded FEMA, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), take action to get the money back.
Fired is good.
Now investigate criminality and send to prison if these were crimes.
