President Trump DOUBLES Lawsuit Against CBS After Release of Full Kamala Harris Interview

After CBS News was forced to release the full, unedited version of their 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris, President Trump is doubling down — quite literally.

President Trump’s legal team has just revised his lawsuit against CBS News, upping the ante from $10 billion to $20 billion.

Check it out:

Of course, President Trump originally sued the network for manipulating the interview to make Kamala Harris look more coherent, which was totally confirmed by the full, unredacted release a few days ago.

In addition to the original lawsuit claims, President Trump has added a new complaint over “unfair competition,” alleging that CBS News diverted viewership away from his own media platforms, like Truth Social, thus costing him money.

The Los Angeles Times reported:

President Trump has amended his lawsuit against CBS, demanding $20 billion and again claiming the network deceptively edited a “60 Minutes” interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris in an effort to prop up her election chances.

In the new court filing late Friday, Trump demanded twice the amount in damages than he originally requested. The updated complaint included CBS’ parent company, Paramount Global, as a defendant and added Republican U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson, Trump’s former doctor, as an additional plaintiff because he lives in Texas, where the case was filed.

Trump’s amended filing seeks to steer the case away from 1st Amendment grounds. Instead, Trump asserts the case should not hinge on free speech arguments because CBS allegedly had business motivations to make Harris appear stronger.

CBS declined to comment Saturday. The network has repeatedly denied that it deceptively manipulated the Harris interview.

The amended complaint came two days after the Federal Communications Commission took the unusual step of releasing raw transcripts and the unedited video of the ‘’60 Minutes” interview sessions with Harris. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, appointed by Trump, this week opened a separate inquiry into alleged news distortion at CBS, following a complaint filed last fall by the conservative nonprofit Center for American Rights.

Variety added:

President Trump amended his lawsuit against CBS on Friday, doubling the amount he claims he is owed for “deceptive” editing of a Kamala Harris interview to $20 billion.

Trump sued the network in October, claiming that “60 Minutes” violated the Texas consumer fraud statute when it edited Harris’ answer about the war in Gaza. CBS has sought to throw out the suit, arguing that its editorial decisions are protected by the First Amendment.

The president amended his complaint on Friday night, adding a new claim for “unfair competition” under the federal Lanham Act. The claim alleges Trump was harmed by CBS’ conduct through his role as an owner of the Truth Social platform.

“President Trump was harmed as a competitor in the news media industry and suffered actual
damages in an amount to be determined upon trial of this action,” the complaint states. As a result of CBS’ editing, the suit alleges, “viewership was improperly diverted to Defendants’ media platforms, resulting in lower consumer engagement, advertising revenues and profits” for Truth Social and Trump’s other media ventures.

CBS released full transcripts and video of its Harris interview earlier this week in response to a demand from the Federal Communications Commission. The transcript shows that CBS used one portion of Harris’ response on “Face the Nation” and a different portion the next day on “60 Minutes.”
