Train Catches Fire, Hundreds Forced To Evacuate

Hundreds of passengers were evacuated after a SEPTA train caught fire Thursday night in Pennsylvania.

The incident, which forced 350 passengers to evacuate, occurred in Delaware County.

“Currently, numerous firefighters are responding to a SEPTA train fire in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, located 21 minutes or 16 miles from Philadelphia. The fire was reported underneath a Wilmington/Newark Line train near the station,” Rawsalerts wrote.

“The six-car train, carrying approximately 350 passengers from Philadelphia to Wilmington, caught fire, prompting a full evacuation. Fortunately, all passengers were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation,” the post added.

Service is currently suspended on SEPTA’s Wilmington/Newark line until further notice, and Amtrak service is experiencing delays between Wilmington and Philadelphia due to the blaze.

No injuries have been reported, and SEPTA said all passengers were safely evacuated.

SEPTA said that shuttle buses will be provided to the passengers.

FOX 29 Philadelphia reports:

A woman on the train, Dnasia Buckner, described the scene saying everything was fine when they left Philadelphia, but somewhere between Ridley Park and Norwood, in Delaware County, the car she was riding in began to smell strange.

“We had to get up and relocate to another car and then we had to get up and relocate again and that’s when I started to see smoke coming from the side of the train. And, as people were walking by, they said the train’s on fire, but the conductors aren’t saying anything. And, eventually they opened the doors and we got off,” she explained.

She went on to say passengers were on the train about 15 minutes while they smelled smoke, but before they evacuated. She thought there were about 200 passengers on the train and it took about 15 minutes to get off the train.

Video from the scene showed smoke swirling about one of the train cars.

Several SEPTA buses arrived about 7:15 Thursday evening to carry passengers to their destination.

Amtrak alerted their passengers that service between Wilmington and Philadelphia was halted on the Northeast line, due to fire department activity on the tracks. Amtrak then alerted about an hour later that service was back up and running.

Planes, Trains and Shipping Vessels — What Comes Next?

Planes, Trains and Shipping Vessels — What Comes Next?

Plains, Trains and Automobiles was a hilarious movie. Maybe Top 20 comedy of all time, especially since Hollywood has been incapable of writing comedies for about 10+ years now and doesn’t appear able to recover anytime in the foreseeable future.

But Plains, Trains and Shipping Vessel derailments?  Not so funny.

Two things happened yesterday that caused me to consider this topic and write this article.

First, someone mentioned to me how it seems like there has been a huge increase of tragic events under the Biden Regime (remember all the train derailments?  Now planes falling apart every day.  Now capped off by a Shipping Vessel taking out an entire key bridge).

But don’t worry, this guy is on the case and going to fix it all real soon:

Of course we covered all of those on a daily basis, but stepping back to view the forrest from the trees, it was stunning to really think about.

Then they asked me the question: what do you think happens next?  Between now and the election.  Do you think it gets better or worse?

Neither of us really needed to answer that question because we both knew.

The second thing was I ran across the meme posted above.

Sometimes a picture truly is worth 1,000 words.

I don’t recall much, if any, of this crap happening under Donald Trump’s watch.

Oh we had some mean Tweets, but the world was mostly at piece and under control.

Now?

Well, I thought it might be good to turn to the actual data and take a walk down memory lane.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, that would take far too long, but here is just some of what we’ve endured over the pat 4 years of the Biden Regime.

How much of this must happen before it becomes “not a coincidence”?

I don’t know, but see how far you can stick with me as we walk down memory lane….

Of course probably the most notable and tragic derailment was in Palestine, OH.

I’m sure you all remember this:

Wow, right?

And that was just a SMALL sample, I stopped before it got unreasonably long.

And that was just trains.

I probably don't need to remind you too much about all the airplane incidents recently....planes literally falling apart during takeoff, midflight and during landing.

Me either.

Then of course we have the infamous incident from yesterday which was horrific:

Folks, this is truly stunning.

They are trying to destroy our food supply!

As someone who sits in this chair and covers the news each day, I see this firsthand.

Heck, we covered this one just this morning:

BREAKING: Explosion Sets Chicken Plant Ablaze In Texas

I knew there have been a lot of food processing plants and other food supply buildings that have burned down, blown up or otherwise met a catastrophic, untimely end in the last 3 years, but I had no idea just how many until I saw it all together in one place.

I've been here to cover each of these, but it's really jarring when you see it all in one place.
