Rep. Al Green (D-TX) said Wednesday morning he intends to bring Articles of Impeachment against President Trump after announcing the United States will take over the Gaza Strip.
“The movement to impeach the president has begun. I rise to announce that I will bring Articles of Impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done,” Green said.

Per Newsweek:
Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas said Wednesday morning that he just brought Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump over the alleged threat of “ethnic cleansing in Gaza.”
On Tuesday, Trump said during a news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the United States wants to “take over” the Gaza Strip, drawing backlash from some lawmakers and praise from others.
Green unsuccessfully attempted to impeach Trump on three different occasions during his first term, Newsweek noted.
“The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it, too. We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site. Level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings. Level it out. Create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area,” Trump said Tuesday.

From The Hill:
Green denounced Trump’s remarks and said he wanted to remind people that the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was correct when he said “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
“Injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States of America,” he said.
Green was one of the lawmakers who initiated Trump’s first impeachment in 2017. He said Wednesday that he “laid the foundation for impeachment” and will do it again.
“I know that it’s time for us to lay the foundation again. On some issues, it is better to stand alone than not stand at all,” he said. “On this issue, I stand alone, but I stand for justice.”
Green called on the American people, noting that an impeachment movement must be a grassroots movement.
“The people have to demand it, and when the people demand it, it will be done,” he said.
