Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Offers Elon Musk His Support To Protect DOGE

A prominent attorney in President Trump’s Justice Department has just pledged to protect all of Elon Musk’s staff at DOGE as they work to cut out government corruption and bloat.

Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin sent a letter to Elon Musk promising to defend DOGE against any threats.

His very important letter comes as many of Elon Musk’s staffers are being targeted and facing pushback from reporters and career government workers.

“Dear @elon, Please see this important letter,” Washington, D.C., U.S. Attorney Ed Martin posted Monday on X. “We will not tolerate threats against DOGE workers or law-breaking by the disgruntled.”

Martin’s letter came amid controversy surrounding Musk’s DOGE staffers having faced resistance from career government staffers. Musk led a DOGE chat on X on Sunday, urging Americans and “the judiciary” to support his group’s work with the Trump administration.

“Let me assure you this: We will pursue any and all legal action against anyone who impedes your work or threatens your people,” Martin’s letter to Musk read. “We will not act like the previous administration who looked the other way as the Antifa and BLM rioters as well as thugs with guns trashed our capital city.

“We will protect DOGE and other workers no matter what.”

Ed Martin Jr. was sworn in as new Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia shortly after President Trump was inaugurated on January 20th.

His bio page on the Justice Department’s website reads:

On January 20, 2025, just minutes after Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, Edward R. Martin, Jr. was appointed and sworn in as Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia…

For the past two decades, Martin has maintained his own law practice while engaging in public service, including serving as Chairman of the St. Louis Board of Election Commissioners, Chief of Staff to Missouri Governor Matt Blunt, and in senior positions at the Eagle Forum Education and Legal Defense Fund, including succeeding the late Phyllis Schlafly as President. Martin was Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party, member of the Republican National Committee, and previously ran for elected office in Missouri.

Here’s what Martin had to say as he was sworn in to serve in President Trump’s Justice Department, per a press release:

“I want to thank President Donald Trump for trusting me to help him re-establish law and order in Washington, D.C.,” said U.S. Attorney Martin “It is the honor of my lifetime to accept his nomination as Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. I pledge to work as hard as he does for America, even though no one outworks him. I want to thank my wife and family for carrying me to this day, and I pray to the Lord Jesus Christ for the continued wisdom and courage I have always found in Him.”

Ed Martin is already hard at work protecting DOGE, and serving the American people.

Check out this statement from his investigation into prosecuting those who unlawfully target DOGE staff:

For some context, this statement was regarding reporters posting the names of individual DOGE workers and doxxing them:

Mr. Martin means business!

This kind of malarkey won’t be tolerated!

Let’s get it done!
