Chrissy Teigen, known as a model, the wife of John Legend, and a vicious critic of President Donald Trump — not necessarily in that order — recently weighed in on the backlash Selena Gomez received after posting a blubbering message in criticism of Trump’s decision to actually enforce America’s immigration laws.

Teigen couldn’t resist publicly siding with Gomez, as Breitbart reported:
“Having empathy is now something gross and weird. we love you @selenagomez and boy does the White House have a lot of time on their hands for the dumbest shit ever,” Teigen wrote on her own Instagram account.
“You want cheaper eggs? Too bad! Too many people to roast online. Maybe later,” she added.
Teigen did not explain what the price of eggs has to do with the fake claims Gomez was sobbing over.
For its part, the White House did not sit quietly by and let Gomez promulgate false claims. Indeed, the Trump administration put out a video of its own featuring the mothers of young women murdered by Joe Biden’s illegal aliens and the people that Gomez was defending with her tears.
It’s also worth noting that the White House did not “roast” Gomez, but simply provided some important context that was missing from her display of histrionics.
Kayla Hamilton, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin were murdered by illegal aliens.

Plenty of other social media users similarly provided a counterargument to Gomez’s complaints:
HOLY MOLY!!! Joy Villa just stunned everyone at the Grammy's talking about President Trump's deportations. Selena Gomez should cover her ears.

Before you watch the next video, be advised that there’s some strong language:

Some of those most directly impacted by violent crime committed by illegal immigrants were similarly upset by Gomez’s video, as even NBC News reported:
Patty Morin, the mother of Rachel Morin, said she feels Gomez’ video is “a ruse to deceive people and garner sympathy for lawlessness.”
Rachel Morin, a mother of five, was found dead on Maryland’s Ma and Pa trail in 2023. Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, 23, was arrested in connection with her murder. He allegedly came to the U.S. without permission after fleeing El Salvador, where authorities were seeking him in the death of a young woman there, according to a Maryland official.
Alexis Nungaray, whose 12-year-old daughter, Jocelyn Nungaray, was found dead last summer, said its hard to believe what Gomez said in her video “because she’s an actress.”
Here’s some additional coverage of the backlash:
