President Trump Signs “10-for-1” Executive Order To DECIMATE Federal Regulations

President Trump signed an executive order on Friday targeting federal red tape.

The order requires not one, but 10 old regulations to be eliminated before a new one can be added.

This is a massive expansion of President Trump’s original “2-for-1” rule that he imposed during his first term.

Check it out:

The Washington Examiner reported:

President Donald Trump will sign an executive order Friday that will significantly expand the “2-for-1” deregulatory goal he installed during his first stint in the White House.

The White House detailed the order in a memo, obtained Friday morning by the Washington Examiner, which follows through on one of Trump’s 2024 campaign promises. It requires federal agencies to “identify at least 10 existing rules, regulations, or guidance documents to be repealed” for every new proposed rule, regulation, or guidance.

The order further directs the Office of Management and Budget to set “standardized measurement and estimation of regulatory costs” and “requires that for fiscal 2025, the total incremental cost of all new regulations, including repealed regulations, be significantly less than zero.”

USA Today added more details on the EO:

For every new rule, President Donald Trump plans to kill 10 old ones.

That’s the thrust of the president’s latest executive order, signed Friday, called “Unleashing Prosperity Through Deregulation.” Trump, ever the businessman, has often complained that government regulations stifle economic development.

The new order requires federal agencies to repeal “at least 10 existing rules, regulations or guidance documents” for every new rule or regulation created.

“It is the policy of my administration to significantly reduce the private expenditures required to comply with federal regulations to secure America’s economic prosperity and national security,” the order states.

The order also requires agency heads ensure the cost of any new regulations in fiscal 2025 “shall be significantly less than zero.”

It wasn’t immediately clear how federal agencies would go about choosing which 10 regulations to eliminate, or how their wider cost will be determined.

Less bogus red tape…more economic growth and freedom for innovation.
