All The DNC Chair Candidates Agree: Kamala Lost Because Americans Are Racist And Sexist

Instead of conducting a thorough postmortem on their party’s disastrous 2024 campaign, national Democratic leaders are still spreading the claim that voters supported President Donald Trump over Kamala Harris because they’re a bunch of bigots.

The individuals vying to replace Jaime Harrison as chair of the Democratic National Committee were recently asked during an MSNBC-hosted candidate forum whether they believe “racism and misogyny played. role” in Harris’ defeat.

All eight dutifully raised their hands, as the Daily Wire reported:

Eight DNC chair candidates, including former presidential candidate Marianne Williamson and former Social Security Administration Commissioner Martin O’Malley, were part of an MSNBC forum at Georgetown University, where they answered various questions from network hosts Jen Psaki, Symone Sanders, and Jonathan Capehart. After a question from Capehart for all the candidates, each agreed that Harris lost to President Donald Trump partly because of a culture of racism and misogyny.

“So, I’m going to have a show of hands. How many of you believe that racism and misogyny played a role in Vice President Harris’ defeat?” Capehart asked.

Every candidate quickly raised their hands as did the audience members.

“That’s good. You all passed,” Capehart said.

Claims that racism and misogyny were responsible for Harris’ dismal performance have been widely dismissed in favor of the theory that voters were simply tired of the Biden administration and preferred the Trump campaign’s message:

Of course, Harris’ historic loss did seem to expose some toxic racism on the left:

Somewhat ironically, the man all eight of the aforementioned candidates want to replace has already acknowledged that Democrats shouldn’t have replaced Joe Biden with Harris.

As the Associated Press reported:

Should Democrats have stuck with Biden?

HARRISON: “That’s my normal default, is that you stick by your people, right, particularly people who have worked hard on behalf of the party.”

“I went into this thinking, OK, you’ve got probably the most successful of my lifetime legislative president who has poured tons of money into making sure that not just Joe Biden and Kamala Harris get elected, but Democrats get elected — not just in the battleground states, but all states who support a lot of resources and his own time fundraising in order to strengthen the state parties.”

“And then when he hits a roadblock, when he hits a bump in the road, do we stick with him, or do we jettison him? That’s the mentality that I had going into this. And my nature is, ‘I’m on the team with you, you’re my quarterback. You got sacked a few times. But you know what? I’m going to block the hell out of the next person that’s coming at you.’ And that is not always the mentality of everybody in my party. And so sometimes, people look on the sidelines, ready to call in the backup.”
