President Trump has been keeping his promises at record pace. The dizzying speed of changes being made across the board from the Pentagon, to the border and immigration policy — AND THE ENFORCEMENT THEREOF — has been a spectacle to behold and cover.
President Trump is reportedly set to continue keeping his promises, including an innovative concept to protect America that many of his critics are calling impossible and ineffective.
The very real threat of a massive long-range nuclear launch is growing, and we have the capacity to strike back against anyone who hits us in such a way.
But according to some experts we have almost zero ACTUAL DEFENSE against that growing threat once missiles are incoming, particularly if an adversary fires more than a small handful of warheads at us.
President Trump promised during his campaign to build an American version of the Iron Dome if elected to counter this threat. And he is apparently planning on keeping that promise “quickly”.

President Trump referenced the concept of an Iron Dome styled after that of Israel’s highly successful missile defense shield, except purposed for use over American cities, countless times during his campaign.
Then, as now, critics complain about the short-range capabilities of Israel’s Iron Dome.

He was questioned back in October by an active duty soldier stationed at FORT BRAGG (yeah… I said it – Fort BRAGG!) just after Iran launched a barrage of missiles into Israel, which was almost completely defended against partly in thanks to the Iron Dome system.
The soldier asked him what he though about an Iron Dome for America:
Good evening Donald Trump 🤣😂😂

The plan would harness satellite technology, and would potentially prove viable in deterring exactly the sort of attacks we’re talking about according to a threat status update issued by the Washington Times:
National Security sources tell Threat Status that President Trump’s “Iron Dome for America” rhetoric is tethered to a viable plan to harness 21st-century satellite technology to create an advanced missile shield capable of deterring potential long-range attacks from China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.
Many on social media are reading between the lines — as I am doing — recognizing the focus being given to this plan so quickly after taking office as an indicator of the true nature and seriousness of the threat.
We all know the threat is there, and growing, but President Trump is now the recipient of the highest level of intel the intelligence apparatus of the United States can muster.
Not to mention, the capabilities of those intelligence services, simply as an outgrowth of renewed respect across the globe, is likely growing by leaps and bounds since he took office — meaning their capabilities to accurately do their job of informing the President — is increasing as well.
Does President Trump know specifics that we don’t know about the growing threat of a large nuclear launch against us, and our inability to defend against it? The answer is almost certainly, “Yes”.
Trump is acting like we're preparing for war.
He's aggressively pursuing acquiring strategic territories, building an iron dome missile defense system.
Who knows if there is a developing threat (at least more of one than we are aware of) but this has me paying attention. https://t.co/0IyKaJYLlN

I’m nervous that Trump thinks we need an Iron Dome, when the US has never been the recipient of a foreign missile attack. What does he know that we don’t … https://t.co/xQRaQxr9TG

It is no secret that we are not adequately prepared for the growing nuclear threat aimed in our direction.
In regards to an Americanized version of Israel’s Iron Dome, President Trump’s former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense from his first term weighed in.
Robert Soofer doesn’t just warn that the threat of nukes hitting the U.S. homeland is “real and growing”, but he suggests a path forward within the structure of President Trump’s Iron Dome concept that could seriously change that frightening fact via a report in Newsweek:
The U.S. is not prepared enough for a possible long-range missile strike from Russia, China or North Korea, a new report seen by Newsweek says, offering one potential road map for President-elect Donald Trump to piece together the American version of Israel’s vaunted Iron Dome system he has pledged to build around the U.S.
The report, penned by Robert Soofer, who served as former deputy assistant secretary of defense for nuclear and missile defense policy in the previous Trump administration, says the threat of long-range strikes, including those using intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) with nuclear warheads, hitting U.S. territory is “real and growing.”
Soofer, writing for the Atlantic Council, recommends the incoming Trump administration quickly builds up U.S. stocks of specific types of interceptor missiles to knock out a possible incoming attack, rather than only rely on the threat of retaliation to make sure the likes of North Korea, China or Russia do not attack the mainland U.S.
ADVERTISEMENTWashington can hit back at another country after they strike the U.S., the report argues, but it can only effectively block a first hit from North Korea and only if it uses a few warheads.
News started breaking about an hour ago when the White House confirmed that President Trump would indeed soon sign an Executive Order initiating the building of an American Iron Dome system.

That was when the critics started chiming in as well.
And I have to say, a lot of the criticism sounds like reasonable; at least at first glance.
Many question the effectiveness of a system that has successfully protected a country the size of Rhode Island being fielded by a nation the size of the United States.
I’m pretty sure Trump misunderstands what the Iron Dome is, and thinks it’s a literal, physical dome Israel built over their country. Like the EPA dropped over Springfield in The Simpsons Movie. pic.twitter.com/lXkd4epm66

There are those who simply think President Trump isn’t all that bright.
But at this point, if that’s what you think… you could be a little ‘dim’ yourself.
On the other hand, there are more reasonable critiques to the proposed plan, or at least the overall concept in regards what we know about Israel’s version of the Iron Dome.

For starters, it is not improbable that a localized threat could come from a neighboring country, either from the north or south, as opposed to across the globe from Russia, China, N. Korea, etc.
Central and South America already have a growing threat potential with official and unofficial groups operating in the area with ties to all of our nuclear-armed adversaries.
And the rumors coming out of Mexico concerning more highly trained military groups with Chinese and Russian connections are downright scary.
But, two things for the critics who point out the limited range of the Israeli Iron Dome missile defense system:
- We have oceans on two coasts and a large gulf (THE GULF OF AMERICA!) which have all seen stealth intrusions by our nuclear armed adversaries by boat and submarine in the recent past from which a nuclear assault could be launched.
- Who says the American version of an Iron Dome would be scaled the same as Israel’s version?
Pete Hegseth was actually the first to enter the topic back into discussion today, before the White House reportedly confirmed the impending Executive Order.
As he arrived at the Pentagon Monday morning for his first day at the Pentagon he was met by a group of reporters with questions.
Here’s a quick video of his comments this morning as covered by CNN:
The new Secretary of Defense outlined several issues soon to be addressed by Executive Order from President Trump, including the American Iron Dome, according to a report by the New York Post:
Walking into the five-sided building for the first time as leader of the American military, Hegseth told reporters they could expect a flurry of executive orders from Trump, 78 — including one that would order the deployment of a system similar to that used by the Jewish state, which blasts ballistic missiles out of the sky with an accuracy rate of roughly 90%.
“Today, there are more executive orders coming that we fully support, on removing DEI inside the Pentagon, reinstating troops who were pushed out because of COVID mandates, Iron Dome for America,” he said. “This is happening quickly.”
The Israeli-made air defense system is heralded for its ability to target and shoot down incoming missiles, which has helped limit damage inside Israel from attacks by Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis throughout the 15-month-old Middle East war.
Pursuing an Iron Dome for America was part of the Republican campaign platform in 2024.
“Republicans will ensure our Military is the most modern, lethal and powerful force in the world,” the document said. “We will invest in cutting-edge research and advanced technologies, including an Iron Dome Missile Defense Shield, support our troops with higher pay, and get woke leftwing Democrats fired as soon as possible.”
However, Israel is a small nation located close to its enemies, raising questions about whether the US can hope to duplicate Iron Dome’s effectiveness.
Raytheon has created a similar system, dubbed the SkyHunter, which it claims “can be produced in the United States to expand availability and capacity for the US and its allies.”
Iron Dome maker Rafael — which is tied to the Israeli government — has told The Post that there are ways in which its system could be adapted to protect a nation the size of America.
(Emphasis Added.)
In many ways, there is a much more logical critique of this idea for an Iron Dome to protect the American homeland:
WHY HAS IT TAKEN THIS LONG for our elected officials to come up with the idea and make it happen!?
We live in a world where America can no longer afford leaders who sit comfortably huddled with their DEI hires, conspiring how to overturn the very fabric of reality for every other member of American society in order to make ‘woke’ idiots with make-believe alternate realities feel fulfilled and happy with their abhorrent kinks. (In case you didn’t know how I ‘really’ feel…)
We live in a world with real threats, growing dangers, and a group of nations that are actively and quickly conspiring to displace us — by any and all means possible — from a position of strength and capability.
Screw that.
It’s time we take aggressive action with innovative plans to ensure that every avenue of potential means by which our adversaries would pull that goal off is completely removed from their capacity to do so.
If we need Greenland — take it.
If our security requires repatriation to nations unwilling to work with us — do it anyway.
If we need an advanced missile defense system — enough with the excuses, just build it!
Thankfully, President Trump just FIRED that ‘woke’ crowd of idiots who almost succeeded in driving us into the ground.
Almost. But not quite.
We are so back…
