Matthew Huttle of Hobart, Indiana was killed Sunday in a traffic stop no far from his home town.
Huttle served 6 months in prison after the Biden DOJ prosecuted him and thousands of others unjustly for his part in the events at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 which have come to be known simply as ‘J6’.
Huttle had just been pardoned by President Trump along with 1,500 other J6 protesters before his death.
A Sheriff Deputy reportedly pulled Huttle over in Jasper County Indiana for a traffic stop, which ultimately ended with Huttle fatally shot by the Deputy.

The traffic stop occurred Sunday afternoon when, according to the Jasper County Sheriff Department, an ‘altercation broke out’ between Huttle and the Deputy.
The Deputy was apparently attempting to arrest Huttle, the reason we currently do not know, according to a story in the Indy Star News:
An Indiana man recently pardoned for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol was fatally shot by police during a traffic stop Sunday.
ADVERTISEMENTThe shooting occurred about 4:15 p.m. Sunday after a deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department stopped Huttle’s vehicle near the Pulaski County line, according to a release sent out by Indiana State Police.
While the deputy was attempting to arrest Huttle, an altercation broke out between them, resulting in the deputy shooting Huttle, according to ISP.
The deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave as state police investigate the shooting, Jasper County Sheriff Patrick Williamson said in a statement.
Neither the Indiana State Police nor Jasper County Sheriff’s Office have released the deputy’s name. Williamson said he will do so once he has approval from the state police detectives.
The Sheriff Department says that Huttle was in possession of a firearm at the time of the traffic stop.
No claims have been made that he attempted to retrieve the gun or that it led to the altercation.
Alexander Sheppard, also a J6 protestor, served his time in the same prison where Huttle served his 6 month sentence.
Sheppard became good friends with Huttle, often spending their time on the rec yard track discussing the state of the country, according to Sheppard’s post just a short time ago.
He described Huttle as “a Patriot who hated government corruption and loved his family.”

He and my buddy Dan (middle) used to walk the track in the rec yard and discuss the state of our Country.
He was a Patriot who hated government corruption and loved his family.
I had the pleasure of knowing him, and it was clear that he had a very big heart.
We sometimes worried about Matt because he did not know where he was going to live after leaving prison, and at one point the government supposedly wanted him to move to Washington, D.C. for his supervised release.
ADVERTISEMENTI hope we obtain body-cam footage from the Police Officer who fatally shot my friend immediately, and that investigators uncover the truth.
Regardless of whether the officer was in the wrong or not, I think it is fair to say that this man was another victim of Joe Biden’s weaponized DOJ.
I hope Matthew Huttle Rests In Peace, and PRAY we do not see any more tragic stories like this one stemming from political persecution to the highest degree.
As you would expect, calls for the Sheriff Department to release the body cam footage are already starting to grow rather loud.

The popular X account Insurrection Barbie related the scant details being release about the traffic stop that led to Huttle’s death.
She, also, is calling for the body cam footage to be released of the incident.

He was recently pardoned by President Trump after he was railroaded by the government for J6.
“Indiana State Police said the traffic stop led to the deputy attempting to arrest Huttle, but Huttle allegedly resisted and struggled with the officer. This “altercation” led to the deputy firing his gun and killing Huttle.”

The Jasper County Sheriff said that he has requested the Indiana State Police to investigate in the interest of full transparency.
He also offered his condolences to Huttle’s family, according to a report in USA Today:
Police added that Huttle “was in possession of a firearm” during the traffic stop but did not say whether he wielded the weapon or where exactly it was found.
“For full transparency, I requested the Indiana State Police to investigate this officer-involved shooting,” Jasper County Sheriff Patrick Williamson said in a statement. “Our condolences go out to the family of the deceased as any loss of life is traumatic to those that were close to Mr. Huttle.”
Matthew Huttle and his uncle were both part of the J6 protests at the Capitol.
They were arrested in November of 2022, according to the USA Today article referenced above:
Huttle was arrested in November 2022 after investigators said he was identified on video inside the Capitol building going into “multiple” offices, the Crypt area and hallways on Jan. 6, 2021.
He was sentenced in November 2023 to six months in prison and a year of supervised release after pleading guilty to entering and remaining in a restricted building, a lesser charge than issued to his uncle, Dale Huttle, whom he traveled with that day.
Dale Huttle and his nephew were each sentenced to prison for their involvement during the breach, which included the elder Huttle striking police officers with a flagpole.
“I’m not ashamed of being there. It was our duty as patriots,” he said during a news interview afterward, according to the Department of Justice. “I put myself on the line to defend the country. And I have, I have no regrets. I will not say I’m sorry.”
Huttle was not identified as the man who was killed during the traffic stop until today.
Here’s ABC 7 Chicago with a report detailing the small bit of information being released about the incident when Huttle was identified earlier:
As the ABC 7 report included, both Huttle and his uncle were pardoned just a week ago by President Trump’s Executive Order.
It remains to be seen if any impropriety or sinister intentions on the part of the Sheriff Deputy led to Huttle’s death.
It is definitely possible that the Deputy acted properly, and Huttle is in effect responsible for the altercation that took his life — prejudging this in either direction would be a mistake.
But as for those calling for the body cam footage to be released… I’m with you.
