ABC Chicago & CBS Houston Highlight ‘Rights’ of Illegals & How To Avoid ICE

Reporting by two left-leaning ‘news’ outlets are catching a lot of heat today.

ABC 7 News out of Chicago and CBS 11 in Houston have both run news segments highlighting the “rights” of those in the country illegally, and providing tips on how to avoid ICE.

This comes after planned raids, specifically those in Chicago, were slow rolled after operation details were leaked, likely in a bid to thwart the directives of the President.

Here’s one clip from ABC 7 in Chicago telling illegals who may be targeted in ICE raids not to open the door for ICE agents if they come knocking:

That report detailed how illegal aliens, in the U.S. illegally, could illegally avoid not only detection, but how to behave in such a way as to avoid capture if targeted by ICE agents.

Reporters were highlighting a “don’t open for ICE” campaign as part of the story, emphasizing never opening the door if an ICE agent knocks, according to a report in Newsmax:

A report by ABC 7 Chicago News sparked outrage Wednesday after it aired interviews with several residents detailing how to avoid detection and capture by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

The self-described sanctuary city of Chicago has been anticipating President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration since he won the White House in November. Public schools, teachers and religious leaders have been preparing to protect students and parishioners as the likelihood increases of ICE agents showing up.

“We started attending know your rights training so that we could know how to defend ourselves and our students, if anyone tries to, if ICE tries to communicate with us or potentially detain somebody,” said Erin, a Chicago Public Schools teacher.

ABC 7 Chicago News anchor Cheryl Burton introduced the segment from the studio before passing the story to Michelle Gallardo on the street.

“Chicago’s immigrant community is on edge tonight as Michelle Gallardo reports, activists and elected officials are canvassing neighborhoods, letting people know their rights should ICE come knocking, don’t open for ICE,” Burton said. Gallardo then spoke to local business owners who had “don’t open for ICE” posters and gave illegal immigrants advice on how to avoid detection by the Trump administration.

“We’ve been out here since 5 a.m., educating the community, educating our people that they have rights. You have the right to an attorney. You have a right to a trial,” said Baltazar Enriquez, a member of Little Village Community Council.

In response, many have taken to social media pointing out the illogical nature of treating “illegals” as though they had “rights” in the U.S. similar to a citizen.

Chicago isn’t the only area where the local media is openly calling on people to resist the Trump administration.

Houston CBS affiliate Channel 11 has also focused on the same thing.

Here’s a clip from their reporting pushing the same thing as ABC in Chicago; an awareness of the ‘rights’ of illegals, as well as orders to refuse to cooperate with ICE agents.

Amazingly, the Houston CBS affiliate even pushed people to get help and guidance from the Mexican consulate, while actively working against the legitimate U.S. government!

The ABC News outlet in Chicago detailed how neighborhoods were coordinating patrols throughout their neighborhood, informing on ICE agents as they arrived to conduct targeted raids, according to the Daily Mail:

Social media users are venting their rage over a recent ABC7 Chicago broadcast, where the news outlet interviewed locals who were telling illegal migrants how to avoid being captured by federal authorities.

The broadcast detailed how Chicagoans are patrolling neighborhoods, informing the community of recent mass deportation raids, and telling illegal aliens what to do if Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers end up on their doorstep.

Chicago is a ‘sanctuary city’ and Illinois laws also prevent authorities from asking a person’s immigration status and largely bar police from cooperating with federal agents. There is an exception if ICE agents are looking individuals with federal criminal warrants.

Illinois Governor, JB Pritzker, claimed that ICE has ‘not communicated’ with his administration, however, he said the number of people targeted – those with criminal records – might be much higher than initially believed.

The heavily disputed ‘Know Your Rights’ campaigns continue to spread throughout Chicago as Pilsen’s Perez Elementary school plans to host weekly information sessions every Tuesday starting next week.

Fox News in Chicago is reporting that the streets look like a ghost town as ICE raids and deportations push people indoors — or even towards self-deporting.

Here’s that clip:

It might not escape your notice that Fox Host Falkner had to push the reporter to clarify that of all the people being discussed — all of which are illegal aliens — are all breaking the law simply by being here illegally.

These news reports come on the heels of calls from Senators such as AOC and others to simply ignore President Trump’s executive orders.

AOC: ‘We Don’t Have To Listen To Him’, Calls For Non-Compliance To Resist President Trump’s Exec. Orders

Meanwhile, reports of increasing tensions between cartels operating on the border and Americans on the U.S. side are on the rise.

And now we have large metropolitan media outlets actively pushing for people to work together in a coordinated fashion to resist President Trump's attempts at making our cities and towns safer.

It remains to be seen what will happen when local officials -- Mayors, Police Chiefs, and City Council Members -- refuse to cooperate, and indeed hinder, the efforts of ICE in tracking and deporting those unlawful individuals.

Though, I would not think we will have to wait long to see that reality unfold.
