Tennessee State Rep. Introduces Bill to Rename Nashville International Airport After President Trump

President Trump’s name will go down in history, that’s for sure.

And, Tennessee State Rep. Todd Warner is looking to commemorate perhaps the greatest president of this century (all time?) by re-naming the Nashville International Airport after him.

Rep. Warner has just introduced a bill that would change the name to Trump International Airport.

Check it out:

Fox 17 Nashville reported:

A Tennessee lawmaker has filed a bill proposing the renaming of Nashville International Airport (BNA) to Trump International Airport.

Republican State Representative Todd Warner filed the proposal Friday that would rename the increasingly popular BNA after the president-elect.

Axios added:

Driving the news: On the eve of President-elect Trump’s inauguration, a Tennessee Republican lawmaker has filed legislation to rename Nashville International Airport in his honor.

Why it matters: It’s not unusual for airports to be named after presidents, but Trump is not particularly popular in liberal Nashville.

State of play: Vice President Kamala Harris won 63% of the vote in the November election.

  • Yes, but: Trump easily won Tennessee. Republicans have a supermajority in the state legislature and have the clout to pass the name change.

The latest: State Rep. Todd Warner, a Republican from Chapel Hill, located about an hour from Nashville, filed the legislation to rename the airport.
