Here’s what CBS News reported:
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will not attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday, according to her spokesperson.
Pelosi led House Democrats during the first Trump administration and attended his inauguration in 2017. She became one of Trump’s chief antagonists, overseeing both impeachments against him as speaker.
ADVERTISEMENTA spokesperson did not provide a reason for her planned absence from the president-elect’s second inauguration. ABC News first reported on her plans.
Pelosi fell and injured her hip during an overseas trip to Luxembourg in December, and required hip replacement surgery before returning to the U.S. She was seen using a walker in the Capitol when the new Congress convened earlier this month.

As House Republicans excitedly prepare for President-elect Donald Trump’s second stint in the White House, many Democrats are opting to avoid the “chaos” of Inauguration Day — including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
Eyes have been on Ocasio-Cortez, a once-firebrand progressive who has since shifted center-left during her terms in Congress, to see whether she will attend the inauguration of a man who she has vigorously opposed in and out of campaign season.
Ocasio-Cortez told the Washington Examiner that she will not be attending the inauguration.
“I think it’s the general kind of safety and logistical chaos in that event. I’m opting out,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
