President Trump is reportedly planning on announcing Secret Service Acting Director Ron Rowe’s replacement.
Not surprisingly, the decision has fallen on an individual who has been through thick and thin with the President.
In fact, he literally shielded his body and helped him to his feet after a would-be assassin narrowly missed a kill shot, grazing President Trump’s ear in Butler, PA.

According to various sources, Sean Curran who currently heads his personal protection detail, is being named Director of the Secret Service pending an announcement by President Trump.
Susan Crabtree with Real Clear Politics reportedly broke the story:

I’m putting this story in the “most likely confirmed” pile considering how many reputable sources are backing the story.
It isn’t official yet, but it sounds as though the President has made up his mind.

President Trump will be naming Sean Curran, who heads his personal detail, to be Secret Service Director, per RCP’s @SusanCrabtree
Curran was INCREDIBLY vocal about the need to increase Trump security ahead of the Butler attempt, but was repeatedly denied by the Biden regime
Curran put his life on the line by jumping on top of Trump as gunshots rang out, so his loyalty is tough to question.
If Trump trusts him with his life, then so do I.
But Curran MUST reform the USSS. Americans’ trust in them is at an all time low.
Curran has led point on President Trump’s personal detail for the past four years, and has earned his trust.
Some sources are apparently pointing out the fact that Curran has never operated at the headquarters level of the Secret Service, and has “only” managed about 85 people in his current position, according to a CNN report:
President-elect Donald Trump is expected to pick his current Secret Service detail leader, Sean Curran, to be the new director of the United States Secret Service, according to multiple sources familiar with the decision.
For the past four years, Curran has led Trump’s detail and is known to have a close, personal relationship with the president-elect, sources said.
Several sources, however, also raised significant concerns that Curran lacks the managerial experience to run an agency as large and complex as the Secret Service. On Trump’s detail, Curran supervised about 85 people. He has never managed the kind of budget or operations of the Secret Service.
Further, multiple sources point out that Curran has never held a position at the agency’s headquarters and is not a member of the Senior Executive Service, which comprises the highest ranks in the service.
Quite frankly, that likely makes him the PERFECT candidate.
First, he isn’t indoctrinated with the complete nonsense that has run rampant through many government agencies, including the Secret Service.
He is a grunt, with leadership experience. THAT IS PERFECT!
Secondly, the naysayers caution that he has “only” managed 85 people. To which I would argue that if you have ever managed 85 people, you understand that isn’t a small number.
That requires multiple levels of decentralized command structure, with requires a nuanced mix of both standardized protocols and individual freedom to act.
That is not an easy thing to accomplish, and this man has been doing it successfully — in spite of the Biden administration’s issues — for 4 years straight.
He probably has more valuable leadership and management experience having handled a team of 85 than he would if he had a team of 2,000, simply because he is close enough on the ground level to recognize real-world issues; not the bureaucratic issues that high-level cutout manages make up because they don’t know what else to do.
Here’s an awesome picture of the new Secret Service Director from the National Archives:
Susan Crabtree, who broke the story, shared Erik Prince’s endorsement of Curran, while Dan Bongino doesn’t seem too pleased with the outcome from what I can tell.
I would have been pleased to see either of those two candidates in the spot, but I can certainly see why President Trump would want to go with someone he knows well and trusts emphatically.
They have literally taken fire together. That’s a hard bond to top.

As I said, Bongino doesn’t seem to pleased, and it may be simply because he doesn’t think the inauguration itself is safe.

The naming of Curran to the Director role would likely be a step in the right direction, considering Curran’s close working relationship with President Trump, and his front row seat to the mishaps and mismanagement lately.
He was actually one of the loudest voices constantly calling for beefed up security prior to the Butler, PA rally only to be silenced by those at the top.
The announcement is yet to be made official, but it seems as though we are about to see the long awaited changing of the guards at the top of the Secret Service.
