‘Conservative’ WaPo Writer Quits With Jab at Bezos, Joins Anti-Trump Lawfare Architect’s Upstart Publication as Editor-In-Chief

Jennifer Rubin hasn’t been a conservative for years.

Long before the democratic party imploded at the hands of Biden and Kamala Harris, Rubin disavowed her former claim to conservatism and jumped ship — not because she woke up and realized she had been a closet democrat, but because she woke up and realized she hated President Trump.

To be fair, Jennifer Rubin was indeed a conservative.  On many issues, she still is.

But by the same fairness token, the ISSUES haven’t been the “issue” for her in quite awhile.

What she once chided, she now applauds — if President Trump is against it.  And what she once lauded in keeping with conservative values, she now dismisses as nonsense — if President Trump is in favor of it.

She has become a single-issue writer, and that single issue is her abhorrence of President Donald Trump.

Now, as many others have done, she joins the ranks of those members of the media who are so upset with their own inability to buck the tide of MAGA and the election mandate that President Trump won that their only remaining recourse is to align themselves against him in some new way.

And so yesterday, Jennifer Rubin quit her job at the Washington Post while taking jabs at Jeff Bezos (who owns the holding company that owns the Washington Post).

But Rubin didn’t just quit, and take a swipe at Bezos for his perceived role in the Washington Post’s failure to take a strong enough stance against the danger she sees inherent in President Trump.

She immediately aligned herself with arguably the most infamous architect of the anti-Trump lawfare consortium, Norm Eisen, in an upstart online publication aimed at (you guessed it…) countering President Trump.

For an idea of who Norm Eisen is, here’s a clip of him gushing with thanks over Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former lawyer.

Not only did Cohen end up turning on President Trump, but he was apparently instrumental in the earliest stages of helping Norm Eisen initiate the weaponization of lawfare against Trump.

Here’s the full text of that post for easier reading:

Michael Cohen went to Norm Eisen in 2016 with his hush money payment grift that he was just exposed in court to lying about so he could garner favor with Trump.

He was passed over because he’s an incompetent weasel, and Norm admits to having 10 drafted impeachments waiting before Trump even took office. Do you all see now? We have been telling yall this for years.

Keep in mind, Norm is pushing the idea that Cohen initiated things partly to cover for the fact that it was in fact Norm who convinced Cohen to stab President Trump in the back to begin with.

Here’s another clip showing Jason Goodman (aka Crowdsource The Truth on X) confronting Norm Eisen for exactly those reasons:

That same Norm Eisen — now joined by former conservative writer turned Trump hater Jennifer Rubin — has made it his mission to overthrow and thwart President Trump in serious ways.

Check out this clip of Darren Beattie explaining the details of Eisen’s work against President Trump back when Tucker Carlson was still on Fox:

The lawfare, the impeachments, and every attack against President Trump using the “color revolution” methodologies had a common theme: Norm Eisen.

And now, with President Trump literally a week away from assuming the duties of the Presidency once more, Jennifer Rubin and Norm Eisen have joined forces.

Their new Substack-based publication, The Contrarian, puts Eisen as Publisher and Rubin as Editor-in-Chief.

Their stated goal is the preservation of democracy in the face of authoritarianism, according to their About Page:

Democracy faces an unprecedented threat from an authoritarian movement built on lies and contempt for the rule of law. The first and most critical defense of democracy—a robust, independent free press—has been missing in action. Corporate and billionaire media owners have shied away from confrontation, engaged in false equivalence, and sought to curry favor with Donald Trump. It is hardly surprising that readers and viewers are fleeing from these outlets. Americans need an alternative.

While I agree that the media has failed to remain an independent voice of truth, the mission statement of The Contrarian does little to instill confidence that they are about fixing that.

It seems rather obvious that they are simply blaming rich media owners like Bezos for Kamala’s loss, pushing back against rich media owners like Elon Musk for allowing far too much free speech, and preparing to morph the lawfare attack of previous years into pure information warfare while President Trump is in office.

As has been stated time and time again, even after President Trump’s electoral and popular victories on election night 2024… the work is only just beginning, and the battles will surely be constant.

And if the track record of Norm Eisen and Jennifer Rubin are any indication, the court room battles of the previous years may have come to a close, but the information warfare is likely just getting started.
