Trudeau Says He Met With President Trump And They ‘Started Musing’ About Making Canada The 51st State

President Donald Trump has set some ambitious goals for his second term, but one proposal that has attracted significant attention in the weeks leading up to his inauguration has involved adding Canada to the United States.

Granted, the plan has been short on details thus far, but Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently acknowledged that he and Trump discussed the topic during a visit to the president’s Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida late last year.

Trudeau, who recently announced his resignation, confirmed the conversation during an interview this week, per The Hill:

“It actually sort of came up at one point, and then we started musing back and forth about this,” Trudeau told Jen Psaki in a preview clip of a longer interview expected to air Sunday on MSNBC.
